You have loads of people coming over. They aren't too choosy but they're all hungry. What to make?
Think of doing everything in 'bulk'.
A stew?
Warm, satisfying and it always reminds me of my mom's cooking. Some chopping might be inevitable, some sauteing too, but the end result will make everyone wobble home pleased.
A Chicken dish?
A crowd's favorite...you can't go wrong with chicken.
Side of cooked or grilled vegetables?
Everyone should eat some vegetables - prefferably with every bigger meal. ;) It's good for digestion and it tastes amazing. If you have a grill a platter with assorted vegetables will be even more delicious.
Pasta or a Rice dish?
With vegetables, chicken, meat balls, seafood, nuts...you name it, it's not that difficult to make.

A Heavy Duity Salad?
A salad is often just a side dish, but sometimes it can be done in such a way where it is extremely filling and you feel great you didn't eat any bread with it. xD Although you always can...if you want to. The smartest and most delicious way to 'dress' a salad is to simply add some salt, pepper, vinegar (or lemon) and oil (any kind). The 'dressings' you might encounter defeat the whole purpose of it being a meal with less calories and the purpose of it being a healthier choice.

P.S. You can add other things from the list to make it heavier - rice, pasta, potatoes, chicken... It's on you to get creative.
Dessert part coming up!
