I've heard that the average guy can't even bench 135 lbs. doubt it, but let's see.
Which club do you belong to?
Depends on wether I use dumbbells or a barbel. And wether it's heavy chest day or light chest day. Back when I was lifting a lot my average 3 set range was about 130lbs-150lbs I am just now getting into body building again so my average 3 set range is 100lbs flat for barbell. For dumbells I use 30lbs-40lbs dumbbells for dumbbell bench press my general work out is
Monday heavy day chest/back
Tuesday arms
Wensday shoulders/traps
Thursday legs
Friday light day chest/back
Saturday abs
Sunday rest
I usually take 4 BCAA pills two before and two after every day with a whey protien shake in addition to my 3 large meals a day and snacks in between.
Nice set up
Can't bench more than 150 lbs, but that's because the studies are just taking so much time and I'm being lazy. I did notice that on months where I'm consistent, my strength doubles every month or so, so I've got yet to find out what's my maximum.
How much do you weigh if you don't mind me asking?
Uhh... back in high school I vaguely remember it being around 90 or 100 I *think*
My bf can bench 217 an he's your average looking guy
Good for him haha
Yea he amazes me sometimes
How does a person manage to get 217 pounds precisely on a bar? The smallest increment of plates are 2.5 pounds, and someone who is benching 200+ pounds isn't going to be concerning themselves with little 2.5 pounders lol
The bar was 17 pounds and the weights were 200 I would know cause I bought the bar for him
Odd weight for a bar. Where did you buy it? Most bars weigh in at 45 pounds.
eBay XD and I've seen bars weigh at 5-50 pounds
Yeah that's odd. That's why I was wondering how he managed to stack up 217 pounds on it, when plates increment by 5, 10, 25, 35, and 45 pounds lol
35lbs.
17.5lb dumbbells in each arm, bro.
Bruhhhhhh, nice
Let me train you, you'll make all kiiiiindz of gainzzz
Ummm, uhh... yeah!
Hahaha, ahhh hodgetwins lmao
Bruhh im srs, I'll count your macros, make sure you're at a 40-40-20 caloric ratio, put you on dat dere cell tech, some hydrolized whey isolate, creatine, c4, and stronglifts 5x5, you finna make GAINZZZ
Macros stand for macronutrients, which are Carbohydrates, Fats, and Proteins.
Anyone looking to gain size and strength should be eating 20 percent fats, 40% carbs and 40% protein.
Cell tech is a brand of creatine, which is a supplement that makes you bigger and stronger.
Hydrolized whey is the best form of whey protein, which is basically a protein shake.
C4 is a preworkout supplement.
Stronglifts 5x5 is a workout routine that builds strength.
Brahhh I'm the brothority, confide In me bruhhh
What do you want then Bruhh? ;o
I don't know whatever language that is that you just typed in...
All I see is obvs. I get to keep my boobs
Srs
He's HUGE lol.
Do everything I said except taking creatine, you won't look bulky or overly muscular, you'll just look toned and your ass and thighs will grow. Bruhhhh trust me. You will still jiggle.
No, I only take protein shakes.
Well congratulations :D
Ps: you're my best friend now.
Yup, That's exactly what they're for.
PS: well that's even better. You're training, aka improving.
PSS: YAY
That's what I like to hear Bruhh
YES, YES WE ARE, AND I ASSUME YOUR NAME STARTS WITH AN S OR ITS JESSICA
We'll call ourselves FRESH J's.
And yup, California to be exact. I see you're Canadian, nice. Bruhh just trying to help you change the world by being helpful.
I'D WALK BAREFOOT ACROSS A MILE OF LEGOS JUST TO HEAR YOU FART THROUGH A WALKIE-TALKIE, BEST FRIEND. SRS.
BRUHHHHHHHHHH IM SPEECHLESS

lol wtf forsure the average dude can't bench 135 lbs do you know how hard that is for someone who has never been to the gym? I assume the average amount of time the average male goes to the gym is somewhere around 1.5 times a week, with those kinds of numbers there's no way they could reach 135
are you sure? What about guys weighing over 200 pounds that aren't that fat?
guys weighing over 200 lbs that aren't fat with little to no muscle are probably taller than 6'3 and with that being said their range of motion is much more larger than a short stalky dude so it isn't fair at all to compare the two, but regardless of your height if you weigh over 200 pounds and can't bench 135 then thats kind of pathetic
dude, I could bench 175 first try without ever having been to the gym...
275lbs. Hope to get up to 315lbs+ in about a year. I would have been there by now but injuries and my high school's terrible wieght lifting program have caused MAJOR set backs.
However, thanks to my size (check profile), I can EASILY shoot up max by 60-75lbs in a year if I constantly lift. It's been done before.
About fifteen years ago I saw a 300-pound dude who could not bench 95. It was probably the saddest thing I've seen in a gym. Last I heard about him he had tried to kill himself.
Wow that is really sad, I thought that would be Impossible.
probably "Less than 135lbs" (since my exercises aren't emphasised towards lifting - though I do some body weight exercises)
It's fine, I bet I can strike twice as hard as people who can lift twice as much as me :P
The most I've ever hit is 220. That was three years ago. I was only about 125 126 Ibs at the time. I never tried 225. I don't know if I could do it or not.
125 holy shit I've always pictured you to look like rhthomas (guy with the beard) for some reason lol
220 at 125 almost a 100 lbs difference, nice
I'm about 130 now. I'm only 5'3. LOL!!! I can't weigh that much. Plus I'm pretty much skinny with muscles.
Who are you Asker?
@Asker yeah it's not too bad for a my weight. At the time I had only been seriously lifting for like three to five months.
Boom unanonymized
Oh. Cool bro 👍. I see you a lot on here.
Same. Strong avi game btw.
Practice makes perfect. Back in high school I dropped down to 146lbs for power lifting and could get over 225lbs. Then I had shoulder surgery and have been working to get back to my prime ever since.
Wow, impressive. Sounds like you had form issues though. Impressive nonetheless.
Last time I checked, my 1RM was 165. That was a long time ago, about 2 years. Pretty sure it's gone up since.
I'm a female and can bench 115 max rep and squat 140 max rep!
Nice!
115? That's good.
That's really cool
Max bench: 255
Max Squat: 320
Max Dead: 375
Age: 17 #winning
Body weight? And How long you've been lifting?
I've been lifting for a year, I weigh 169 right now so I think my strength is good for my size right now. I'm 5'9 also.
Well actually only 9 months, my strength went up pretty fast, I'm also into calisthenics.
Nice. You're strong bro
Thanks brahhh. Lol
Right now I can only do 170-175. Im working on getting stronger, but I'm a pretty small guy so it's a slow process.
Body weight?
I'm 130 lbs
That's pretty impressive.
I feel like it's not that much though, because I'm still a lot weaker and skinnier than all my workout partners.
I think a true measure of strength is how strong your overhead press is compared to your body weight.
Considering my weight (215lbs) I'm pretty weak only benching 315x4 but I'm a bodybuilder not a weightlifter. Lightweight!
Damn bro. LOL!!! I see what you're saying though. It's more about the look with you huh?
Aesthetics over everything!
In between 2 to 3 plates lol. I laughed at the question little.
You know you've always wanted to see this question pop up on the live feed ;)
Thatbuffedkid? Biggie? Lol
Gag veterans will remember!
It reminded me of Biggie.
I don't know buffkid :/.
It is actually the average guy cannot bench his own weight. Obviously smaller men can achieve that feat a lot easier than bigger men.
Yeah you're right my bad
I can almost lift twice my body weight... yeah I'm small.
I used to be able to bench 225 back in highschool. I weighed about 150 pounds.
Did you have to train to get that strong or did you always bench much more than your body weight?
What was your max to start with? Just curious
292.1125 lbs.. Man you got some crazy units lol.. Was few months ago, might be 300 now :O
aka. 132.5 kg. (yeah we have 2.5kg plates.)
how many reps are you talking? i do about 220 lbs 8 reps i am not even that buff.
1 rep max bro
i don´t do single rep sets. could probably lift more, don´t know how much though :/
single rep sets are pretty useless in my opinion.
Yeah they are, they're only for personal records and testing how strong you are.
hmm ok that´s what i thought. but to get stronger i´d have to gain more mass and i don´t want that.
Are we talking one rep max, or for reps? Because only loser-bros sit and compare what their ORM is.
1 rep max.
Last I did a ORM was a few months ago, and benched 165. I was around 140-ish pounds when I did it.
It was a 3-rep though. Never really worried about just a one rep max.
I'm anon so I picked the last one. I can kick any guys ass on Gag. I am a monster and I benched my truck once while in a foul mood.
Jeez
Jeez is right... step back now
Lmao
Ok then...
But jeez...
Wow one more "jeez" and "Hulk SMASH"!!!

Nothing sexual just a teenage girl seeing how angry she can make this man and when he will lighten up
Lmao good luck ;)
Grrrrr! I will NEVER lighten up until I am master of Gag and the universe.

Yeah I'm not gonna take advice from a man that fights with a teenage girl on gag
Eat a banana
Wow nice
40lbs 20 on each arm but then my arm snapped and had plates put in
Well, I've been going to the gym a lot lately... as a way to curb my sexual frustration and high sex drive. Right now I am benching a little more than 330.
Most I've ever maxed out at is 225. I put it up twice. Just had to go for seconds. Lol
No clue. Haven't maxed at the bench press in 6 or 7 years. The last time I did, it was 200. I weighed 180 at the time. I heard the average max was 155.
I voted E
330 lbs to 350 lbs bro.
Look at my profile to verify. Lol
Well I pump my girlfriend every night.
If that counts?
Sure. You can't just pump iron forever
Sometimes the soft stuff works better for you. Lol!
450 narrow grip in competition.
'mirin
Thanks. The USA national record in the Junior Division (19-23) is 474 @ the 220 weight class. I have a a little over a year and a half to beat that.
2 plates club, bodyweight 160lbs
I've seen my b/f bench 350lbs. But only 2 reps.
Normally when you ask someone how much they bench, it's referring to one-rep max.
So 350 for 2 reps let alone 1 is incredible.
Yeah. He's pretty good but he's into bodybuilding and only 18 years old.
just the bar. LOL
No shame in that, unless you lift lol
More than 315lbs
Niiiiiice.
I changed my mind again
10 lbs. FUCK YEAH!
