Umm, I am a beginner as it's been 2 months since I am going to the gym. I don't know what is the max but I could do about 1 set of8 reps with 30 kg on the smith machine (excluding the bar, for more sets I drop a few kg), deadlift 40kg (bar included) for 8 reps, but that was my last set, I used lighter weights before.
For bench press, I do it on a machine, not with the barbell, I can probably do 18kg for 8 reps, but again, that was my last set. I am not sure as I usually pick my weights in a way that I can do 3-4 sets. Probably my 1 rep max is higher. My hip thrusts are better than my deadlifts though.
That’s awesome, keep it going 👍 you can download apps to calculate your 1 rep Max’s if you are interested in it
thanks. I don't think it would be relevant for all exercises though. For example, I could probably do more on deadlifts, I don't feel a lot of tension in my lower body with the weight I am using, but my arms can't resist that much, it feels like they are going to break.
Are you locking out your elbows when you deadlift? If not you could tear a bicep very easily, also if it’s your grip letting you down you can get straps to help you hold the weight
My whole upper body is letting me down:)) I tried using my biceps, but they can't hold a lot. My upper body it's quite behind my lower body in the level of strength though. I used one of those sites and I scored better for my lower body.
Yeah I have the exact same problem except with my lower body, I’m working on it though, what I was saying is don’t use your biceps, because they may tear under that much weight, they are a tiny muscle compared to your glutes and lower back, at least that’s what I’ve been told
If i do not use my bicep them my wrist/elbows and shoulders start to hold. I am nit using them 100% since my arms are still straigh. Also, my lower back tends to hurt with some exercises, including deadlifts and if i use a smaller weight i don't feel much in my lower body.
8Start to hurt
I think you need some time to focus working on your form a little there is lots of good deadlifts tutorials on YouTube, it is not a lift you can just go do, it’s very technical like the squat
I watched them, but it makes sense that if you have a weak lower body you can't do a lot. I work with 5kg dumbells and I can barelly do 15kg on chest press. Of course I can't hold a lot of weight with my hands. When you hold and keep your back straight you use muscles too.
On hip thusts I do 50kg with no issues.
So it’s your forearms and back muscles leaving you down? Are you able to retract your scapula while lifting? If not this could cause the shoulder pain, if your rounding at your lower back, this would cause the back pain, what about incorporating some rack pulls into an upper body workout or however you train?
I didn't pay attention to my scapula, there were lots of things i had to pay attention to. I will see the next time i train. What do you mean by rounding my lower back? You mean like those girls on instagram are bending their backs? Yeah I know it can cause back pain. I noticed it during glute kick backs as I tended to bend my back too when my foot was up, know I try to keep it still and it's better.
I will see what i can do with that exercise, I saw some people doing it but I didn't try it.
If you are facing left and your back bends like ) it’s rounding, then ( would be arching your back, yeah it applies to lots of exercises, yeah there’s just lots of mental cues you have to think about before doing the exercise
It will help strengthen the muscles that are weak in your deadlift, i never needed to do them, for me it was always quad strength that let me down, so I’m working on that, good luck with it!
thanks, I can't round my lower back as my lower back is naturally arched, so at most it is straight. Good luck with the quads!
Straight is perfect 👌 thanks 🙂
Deadlift
Light bar of 20lb. 5 sets of 8
Heavy bar 60lbs 3 sets of 12
Squats
Without plate probably 100 singles
With plate 25lbs 3 sets of 25 singles
Bench
25- 30 push ups on toes
100 push ups and more on knees
Nice 👍
I don't know about those lifts at this time since I haven't lifted in years. But here are my best lifts when lifting:
At body weight of +/- 150 lbs.: est. 205 lb. max bench, est. 350 lb. dead-lift max; est. 180 lb. squat max
At body weight of +/- 185 lbs.: est. 225 lb. squat max. And note that maximum lifts are not good for building your strength. Doing sets and reps and estimating your maxes from there (if you're not competing) is much better.
That’s cool! Yes of course
I bench about 250. I haven't been able to do squats since I got hit by a car and suffered multiple compound fractures. because my right knee does not have anywhere near full strength or range of motion any longer.
Sorry to hear, can you still get good leg drive when you bench?

So my strength isn't great especially for my training age, but at a bodyweight of like 78KG I hit
150KG squat
170KG strapless deadlift
115KG bench press
That being said i've been super on and off for YEARS, and my bodyweight and strength fluctuate. I was also a "bodybuilder" for like 3-4 years.
Squat 150
Bench 100
Deadlift 85
When I’m not pregnant 🤰
Lol but now You’re basically deadlifting heavy every time you pick something up
I meant because you’re carrying the baby, picking up anything is going to feel like a deadlift
Ya Get me bruv?
I have never tested my 1RM in any exercise, so I will just provide my current sets and reps.
Dumbbell bench press: 22 kg (48.5 lbs) in each hand, 3 x 5 reps.
(I need a new, less wobbly bench before I dare to increase the weight...)
Bulgarian split squat: 44 kg (97 lbs), 3 x 3.
Not much. I move boxes in a stockroom on a weekly basis; I don't hit the gym daily.
Well As long as your doing something haha
You’re*
I've been working out for almost 6 months now I think. My workout buddy is on deployment so I haven't been able to check my max, but I can rep 3-4 times the following
Squat: 415lbs
Bench: 245lbs
Deadlift: 405lbs
Last time I squated 550lbs. I can't bench over 275lbs without my broken ribs separating and my chest turning purple. Highest deadlift was 700lbs. If I leg press anything over 1100lbs I feel a lot of pressure on my knees. I'm getting old and broken.
1100 lbs? Did they still have diaks left?
Used 100lb and 45lb plates. Don't know what a diak is. The gym at CCAC was almost out of plates though.
Plates, whatever, I forgot hiw they are called. I didn't know 100lbs plates exist. 25 kg is the highest i have seen
When I played football, not soccer, we had a bunch so it was quicker to change them. Once saw a specialized bar for this guy from Butler to squat 1250lbs. At 17 he was 6'8" 490lbs and completely bald from a growth hormone disorder. His nickname was Tiny. Sure was a bitch lining up against him my junior year. I started dropping to less than a foot off the ground so he couldn't bend over fast enough to stop me.
I dont push my max or go to the gym that often but i squat 3x5 about 220 and deadlift 3x5 about 250 and bench 3x5 190. I weigh 150. I average go to gym 1x per week and stay no more than an hour.
Good numbers for only going once a week
Ty. Yeah. I used to go 2x a week average and i do eat well and track calories pretty good.
I dont lift weights anymore but i train calisthenics. Bench is around 105-110kg, dl 160kg and my best squat was 140kg (probably around 100 now lol)
How is training in just calisthenics?
Mostly i do only 1 plate each side all exercises and probably look better then all of u. Rip
With your size you only do 60kg on all these movements? What are you taking? 😂
yes, get bigger&ripped = lift weights. It doesn't matter how heavy u lift. Yea sure sometimes i lift heavy but very rarerly. I just feel much better lifting light weights. Cuz most of guys in gym lift too heavy for them and they fuck up their body, do exercise wrong and they lift just to impress girls. But i train cuz i want to look good, and i train for my self not to impress girls. And actually since i started lifting light weights i see a lot guys lifting light and they ask me for advice haha
How do you progressively overload then? Just add sets every few workouts? Seems unsustainable, or maybe you just have incredible genetics
i actually have shit genetics, but look when you train 7days a week and eat enough protein u can't look like shit. I look like this cuz i make my own exercises and i have mind muscle connection. In last few months im not really motivated to tryhard so i just hit gym, do calisthenics&cardio and sometimes but rarerly workout w weights.
Probably around 60 to 70 pounds. I am not that strong.
For which exercise?
deadlift
Squad 450, Benchpress 260, 420 (blaze it)
Im 188lbs and 6`2
I don’t have much strength after getting out of the hospital. I’m fortunate to be able to walk again. I would kill to have a body like the woman pictured above👍
Squat:155kg
Bench 120kg
Deadlift: 135kg
Its been a while since I've tested myself beyond those limits but thats generally where I stop myself... thinking about it now, I could probably go heavier.
squat: 100 kg bench: 90 kg (6 reps) deadlift: 140 kg. And im natural I've never taken any supplements or even protein powder or anything that comes in a shake!!!
Yehh I would totally... get squashed, bended AF and probably end up dead for even thinking of lifting strong shit!!😂
Bench - 60
Squat - 80
Deadlift - 120
after 3 months will pull more in next upcoming months :P
150kg Squat 220kg Bench and 170kg deadlift.
Wow! That’s impressive, How is your bench so much stronger than your other lifts? Do you compete?
Damn I'm fucking impressed. A 220 bench? That's insanse!
Oh yeah I know a guy like that, he doesn’t even squat anymore just leg presses now
*insane.
I know yeah that’s a fairly elite number
I don't think I've ever seen someone hit the 200kgs mark at my gym.
Lol I can’t even bench half that yet
Well for reps anyway
I don't understand how people can have a much stronger bench than their squat. It's so strange to hear.
Sorry to hear about your back brother.
And damn, 3 people who hold the record which just so happens to be the same weights all-round? That's coincidental as hell.
Oh wow I beat that dude's deadlift and equalled the other dudes squat. There's this dude in my gym who's got like a 320 kgs deadlift and like 380 kgs squat. He competes in young strongman though.
Lol apparently on top of most guys on this site having 7in+ dicks they also all are college-level athletes.
As far as bench goes, a plate and 25 per side.. haven’t payed much attention to how much I can squat and dead
Never did any of those (never went to the gym), but I will lift a lot of weights when I eventually start working out that's for sure.
Not at all if i am being hoonest!
Hoonesty is the best policy!
Bench: 130kg
Squat: 185kg
Deadlift: 222.5kg
Nice, how long have been lifting, I’m striving for that 200kg deadlift atm
Almost 3 years. Started at age 18.
*17 seventeen
The best advice I've gotten from getting the perfect deadlift is;
1) Make sure the bar is actually straight (no bends)
2) The bar has good grip to it
3) Find your perfect, comfortable stance.
4) These videos by Jeff Cavaliere; perfect technique

5) Perfect mindset. Get into the zone, get into the flow, unleash the beast within.
Deadlift- 285
Bench Press - 160, max -180
Squat- 240, max-260
Deadlift-205*
Since hurting my lower back I don't do heavy deadlifts and squats anymore.
When I did I think my squat hovered around 250-275, bench 155-ish, and deadlift about 175.
I'm not a big guy though.
Not much...
100 kg squat
60 kg bench
120 kg deadlift
Can't do squats well since dislocating knees ages ago. The other two haven't even attempted.
Been going to the gym for 3 months now. Umm i can do squats 80kg×8 (never tried 1RM)
Deadlifts 130x1 (could do 150)
Bench 1x80( could maybe get 90)
20 kg is my dead lift (44 lbs)
And squat 10 kg (22 lbs)
That’s great 👏 Keep going!
Really lol?😂
Thankyou!:)
I don't know I mostly do cardio
Are you getting the results you want?
squat: 120kg, bench: 75kg Sumo deadlift: 155kg
They are really good numbers for your age man 👏
I don’t know how I would know that. I can get out of my own way. That’s good enough for me
160kg squat
deadlift 150kg
Nice! Squat is something I really need to improve on
60 kg bench
40 kg squat
Never tried dead lift.
Squat 100
Kg or lbs?
Lbs i only weigh 98
That’s a decent squat 👍
Why thank you!
I'm doing yoga instead of GYM
Maybe like 10 lbs.
