50lbs?
100 lbs?
150lbs?
How many reps are recommended?
Advice?
I need your weight and height...?! That would help. Here is a chart a chart this is based on average-advanced weight lifters. link < deadlift
link < squat
I've seen people who far surpass these charts but it's an OK bases. For example I weigh 175 squat is at 315 and deadlift is at 405. That is one rep max that and not usually the weight I train with. When I squat its 5 sets start at 225lbs, 250lbs 275lbs and last two sets 300lbs 3-5 reps.
If you can do 10 reps of 100lbs then you could up the weight 25lbs for at least 6 reps. If your at a stand still what I recommend is doing 125lbs 4 x 6-8.
Same with deadlift. Wherever that is at for a 10 rep max there is no reason you could not add 25lbs. It's sometimes tough finding and feeling comfortable with a max. Get a spotter and play around a bit.
Oh OK. I'm 5'2 1/2
114lbs
I'll try aiming for 115 at some point
Yeah you could definitely do it if you tried it.
It would probably be more beneficial for muscle gain (bigger booty) if you did higher weight and kept your reps at 8 for 4 sets.
In your opinion, are squats or deadlifts better for a better butt?
In your case I would say they go hand in hand for building a better backside.
It completely depends on what are your goals? What do you want to accomplish with them?
Well, I was going for superficial goals. A nice ass
Go as heavy as you can make 10-12 reps, but light enough so you have about 1-2 reps left in your tank. 3-4 sets of 10 to 12 reps with 60-90 second breaks.
Thank you!
I think I tend to rest about a minute before I do 2 more sets, but it's usually 10 reps. I just didn't know if that was too little
This will be different for everyone! If you are trying to tone your muscles, the more reps you can do with control the better. Do 15- 20 reps at a comfortable weight, take a break and stretch. Then increase the weight a little more, and do 15-20 reps again. Stretch. Increase the weight a little more...do this until you are ready for your next exercise. Once you have this down, you can get to your peak and then work your way backwards by gradually decreasing the weight and doing more reps.
Depends on your weight. I'm 85lbs and I squat around 170. Reps and weight depending on what you want. Mass you need to max out and do a lot of sets. Lean muscle you want to go from a low weight to a ton of reps and low sets. Then progressively work your way up. It's healthy for a human to squat at LEAST 2x their weight
Hope this helps.
You weigh 85lbs and are free squatting 170lbs? ?
2x bodyweight squat is common for athlete or competitive lifter. Most average people cannot do it.
I was kicker for my football team
Impressive. I've never seen anyone at that weight squat that amount not even in video.
Thanks. Well I kinda have to. I should video tape it sometime when I'm at the gym. Thanks :)
Im only 4'11" so 85lbs isn't that bad..My hang time was around 3 to 2 seconds and the distance varied. I could get it around 30 to 25 yards, not very good I kno. I didn't kick all the time so I had to lift a lot more and understand workouts and supplements to be at least an equal to everyone.
I hope this helps. One athlete to another
Lol I never really considered myself an athlete I just love to be active and I love anything physically challenging.
You should put up a video on YouTube though ! That is a very good lift (:
