You're referring to anabolic steroids and no, I wouldn't unless I had a congenital deficiency of a protein, hormone or enzyme of which anabolic steroids were the primary treatment. Also, after a certain amount of time or if they are stopped, anabolic steroids can have the opposite effect, because your body ends up relying on the synthetic anabolic steroids and ends up producing very little or none on its own. Corticosteroids, on the other hand, are anti-inflammatory drugs utilized to treat a wide range of medical conditions, but they are a completely different class of drugs from anabolic steroids.

Hate to break it to you, but steriods are already used in medicine. I mean, hydrocortisone creams contain steroids because they naturally kill skin, meaning it can be used to treat skin inflammation by forcing the body to regrow new skin in the affected area. So yes, I would, but not for what you've described. I mean, my example proves that it's a bad idea because steriods eat away at our bodies :/

The problem is, a "safe" dosage would not cause the aforementioned side effects, as they affect the bodies natural systems to sustain life. They would shorten the body's lifespan and may have undocumented side effects on it's self-repair, due to the existing resources going towards muscle building, etc. So, no, I wouldn't, and would not recommend it to anyone. There's a reason why they're not allowed to be used for that kind of thing.
