Why are skinny/thin women getting attacked so much lately?

I liked a celebrity page on Facebook:

They posted a beautiful picture of Angelina Jolie in a red gown, and everyone was saying "ew she looks like a twig" "someone feed her" "she looks skinny and terrible". 

The next day, that same page posted a picture of Rebel Wilson wearing a red dress and everyone was like "she looks gorgeous", "what a beautiful woman with curves".. 

WHAT. THE. FUCK. 
Why is it okay for people to bash skinny women like me? But, it's not okay for me to bash larger women?

I'm tall and thin (5'8 130 pounds). sorry if I have those genetics? Like, I didn't choose to be skinny. I just am...

Why does everyone assume that just because I'm thin it means I starve myself and "suffer" from some kind of eating disorder! Like holy fuck ever heard of a fast metabolism? jesus 

Does anyone else agree? I feel my body type is constantly picked on my bigger women in the media, and it's not fair. 

ALL WOMEN ARE BEAUTIFUL... as long as they're healthy.

Some people will say it is because of jealously, but if that is the case, then skinny people must be really jealous of fat people, to spend so much time bashing them. We know skinny people aren't jealous of fat people. This is about elitists thinking they know what is best for everyone else, and wanting others to conform, and if need be to force them. I don't support lying to fat people, and telling them that all fat is beautiful, but we shouldn't be going out of our way to ridicule them either.

There is a major assault on fat people right now, and I suspect that some of this is backlash from the resentment that it is creating. Fat people are being charged more for airline tickets, being fired from being flight attendants, and are always shown as clowns or bad guys in the media. Lets be honest that is going to create some resentment. Even the affordable healthcare act has created a legal way to tax people for being fat. These are people with legitimate health issues that are being made fun of, and punished by the rest of society. People need to just stop judging how other people are living their own lives, but instead everyone wants to correct the behavior of everyone else around them.

Not that I care but Jolie is like 90 pounds at 5 7 . It's quite different than 130 at 5 8. In sny case peopke should get a life. Saying how bad she looks is just an attempt to feel better at whatever thing about themselves that bothers them and they will probsbly go out tomorrow and buy something to fix it.

I'm 5'8" and 110 lbs! I feel like I'm always getting bashed too. People are always calling me twiggy or telling me to eat. And when people talk about eating disorders I feel like all eyes are on me.
Seriously I would never think of fat shaming someone and I think there are beautiful women of all different sizes. I don't know why people think otherwise. I love my body and I've come to accept it but I really wouldn't mind an extra 20 pounds

I will be the first one to admit that but do I go around putting muscular dudes or in shape dudes or skinny dudes on blast? No I don't. It makes you look bitter, jealous and mad. Anyway, I'm into curvy girls, but that's just how I am. I see no need to bash anyone for their weight. Even like, a 400 pound person doesn't deserve to be made fun of; he/she clearly has a condition and needs help. Same goes for exceedingly anorexic people.

For almost six months now I've been having health problems and lots of stress and I just don't feel like eating most of the time. I understand what you're saying, but I'm not inclined to agree with you here.

You only notice it more because you are more sensitive to it. Eg, if you were a bigger girl and there was this "skinny bashing" you probably would just shrug it off and continue your day. Because you are slim you take notice.
I mean, when was the last time you noticed a pro-skinny article? A while ago? Is that because of the media, or is that because it's less memorable to you? When was the last time you say an anti-bigger article? Again, ages ago? Same reasons?

I notice the bigger shaming articles more because I am bigger. In the same way that I notice the horse racing news more than the football news more, I'm more interested.

A lot of questions on this topic (both sides, fat shaming and skinny shaming) have appeared. Perhaps both are happening all the time?

I think this is true. I am a little curvy, but overall im pretty thin. Which I think me being curvy makes sense, because I have a very high metabolism, but I eat a TON. I think a lot of times they're just jealous or maybe it's just "in" nowadays I don't really know. I grew up (and am still growing up) knowing a lot of obese people in my family and I can easily say it's not something i would personally be proud of. It's very sad, even for the family, and people should just stop judging people on their bodies. I mean shape, skin color, race, and everything. Well, society is turning to see "thick" women as beautiful, sexy, and attractive. "Thick" and "fat" is not the same thing. Being extremely skinny isn't attractive in the eyes of society anymore, and being extremely overweight never was attractive to the media.

When Keira Knightly was popular, a pic on the red carpet was captioned saying that she looked fab and athletic.
