- my family isn't supportive (aka they are ignorant when it comes to mental health)
- my friends dont understand either
I am just so sick of living like that and want a normal happy life.
I close friend of mine was a ballet dancer and suffered from eating disorders from her early teens until mid twenties. She'd be afraid to tell me when she was having trouble and she could never logically explain why she did the things she did. She did open up and discuss things with me from time to time and slowly educated herself on healthy nutrition. She's now a 30 year old pilates instructor and maintains a healthy weight and diet, and is not afraid of grabbing a burger, beer, and fries from time to time.
My advice is to forget about any social pressures or 'standards' that you see on TV or from others. Every body is made different. Do your best to take care of yours. Get educated on proper fitness and nutrition to learn what your body needs and what it doesn't. Find someone to talk to when your having trouble that is supportive and encouraging you in the right direction. Don't be upset with your friends and family that don't quite understand, I never totally understood my friends situation. Be patient with yourself and others. It'll take some time, but if you want to overcome your situation you will.
I bet you are I really wish there is a way I can help!
Thank you, that means a lot!
I'm here for emotional support, to help you recovery. I bet there are plenty of sites for self recovery from your eating disorder.
I believe you can, because eating disorders are usually a mind, and heart issue, that cause the eating problems. I'd advice you to check up on Google and see as much information as you can get about how to recover, and simply make a mental choice to stop what you are doing and eat healthy. i'd say the first few days to weeks will be hard, but if you push through you'll get there
Thank you so much. I will do some research on self-recocery. Yeah it will be hard but I guess the most important thing is that I have the will to get better!
I'd write down or make a mental note of all the good things it will do when you get healthy if I were you :), and I believe you can do this, the power of the mind is far more powerful than the body, and if you are bent and set on getting healthy, and don't budge, you'll get there :)
I hope you can? Its horrible being stuck on self hate feelings and feeling unworthy daily.
