I have been to many a gym on vacations and sometimes I either find myself going in alone or going in with friends or family who may want to use the equipment as well.
I don't believe that anyone really is looking and lurking for anyone when they play with the dumb bells or Run on the Ramp, but it is nice to see who is There doing what you are Doing and that is trying to stay fit as a fiddle for someone special who you might meet maybe when There Or... Somewhere.
Good luck. xx00 Reply

I find nothing more relaxing and calming in a way than getting lost in my thoughts, reflecting on what's going on in my life right now while listening to good music.

Back when I was a gym rat I used to go by myself and even went 2 hours before closing so there was leas of a chance to run into anyone I knew. I HATE going to the gym with others (I don't know how much I can emphasize this), when I'm at the gym I want to be left alone, I don't want anyone trying to talk to me or taking my focus out of my workout.

+1 yAlone and about finding a girlfriend there I admit checking women out but they are usually too busy with what they are doing to talk to

+1 yUsually I go alone. I like to do my own thing, I have very specific training goals rather than simply going to the gym to work-out or to bodybuild, so most of the time when people come to train with me they don't understand what I'm doing, why I'm doing it and I don't have time to explain it to them. Plus it's just easier to get there and get to wherever I want to go next without having to wait for anybody. I've no need for a partner because I'm very self-motivated.

+1 yI personally think going to the gym could be a good place to find a gf/bf. However, a similar question resulted in a bunch of women saying that it's not - they are usually there to work out. I definitely understand that, as I would be there for that main reason, too. But that doesn't mean you can't let sparks fly if they happen to go off.
00 Reply2.7K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I go by myself and meet up with regulars who go there or who are already there when I get off of work then I just pop into our group and train. It's sort of like the gym version of cheers.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI work out at home...
... and no, home isn't a good place find a girlfriend.
As for a gym... most guys aren't going to want to ask girls out there, since most women would complain and the guy would get kicked out. But of course, people still do meet at the gym.
I'd say that's mixed.00 ReplyI can't get a good workout in if I have a partner. It just doesn't work. The timing of the sets doesn't suit me and the convo is a distraction. I put in headphones to discourage anyone from talking to me.

+1 yI've never enjoyed having training partners. I don't like all the wasted time associated with waiting for others.

+1 yAlone.
Question 2: No. People go there to work out, not to be hassled by thirsty guys/girls.20 Reply
+1 yAlone. I can pace myself and do what I want. People are usually working out, so I don't think it's a good place to find one, but to start talking to guys, sure.
00 ReplyI'm not really a gym fan but there's a new gym opening up in the neighborhood and it looks pretty amazing so around 13 of my friends and cousins plan go gym together. I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun. We gym together, we grow together!😎
00 ReplyAlone. Which means I can't go all out on the bench press since no one is there to spot me.
I don't think it's a good place to meet a potential lover.00 ReplyI go alone but also happy to go with friends if they are going too!! I am running at the moment though so most of the time on my own.
