+1 yPeople are dumb. Working out isn't ONLY for losing weight. It's for being overall healthy and even gaining muscle mass and increasing endurance and creating a healthy heart.
I'm very skinny, but I workout in order to gain muscle mass and look toned rather than skin and bones. I also do it because it's healthy. Your size isn't indicative of internal health.
I get annoyed as well when people comment on my body or my weight... as if me being skinny gives them a free card to make comments.
I wish I had some good comebacks, but it might be worth being direct and telling people that it annoys you. If they wouldn't make comments about someone because they are fat, then they shouldn't make comments about someone because they are thin.13 Reply
Asker+1 yExactly but I guess they don't have any sense. I'm just trying to build muscle & tone up my body. Like it's okay to say, "OMG you're so skinny you need to eat," but it's not okay to say, "you're so fat you need to stop eating." I don't get it but my only comeback is going to be my body once I get toned up & looking nice. What kind of workouts do you do? & do you workout at home or the gym?
- +1 y
I pay a monthly $9 subscription to ZGYM (zuzkalight. com). It's basically daily workouts between 5-20 minutes and you just follow along with her at home. I'm not a gym type of person.
I tend to do her workouts mixed with some exercises that I personally like or ones I've found off of YOutube or Pinterest... and try to keep it different every time so I don't get bored. I bought a couple kettle balls and hand weights... and started eating super healthy and increasing my protein intake.
The hardest part is keeping a realistic outlook, and realizing that your body won't change in a couple of weeks; you literally have to keep it up for a few months beause the change is sloooooow. Sometimes it can kill your motivation, but I'm finally starting to notice improvements all over and that's keeping me going. You just have to keep being consistent... especially us girls, becuase we don't build muscle as fast as guys do.
Asker+1 yYeah I know it takes awhile for the results to show but I'm not going to let that stop me. I'm just looking at the bigger picture. I workout at home as well because I don't like going to the gym. I go on YouTube & they have full workout videos on there. I actually just started today. Thanks for your advice. 😊 I appreciate it!

+1 yIt's very annoying. When most people around you are fatter than you, you are always made out to be too skinny by every rando because it feels better for them to think you are of unhealthy weight/exercise regime/diet as much as they are.
If I travel home to my country where everyone is skinny, I suddenly become all good and no one is commenting how I should eat more, or exercise less.
They don't pretend I'm unhealthy, because my weight doesn't make them feel less good looking.
Don't listen to negative fat people comments. Only listen to people who are as thin, as fit and as healthy as we all clearly know, everyone wants to be.11 Reply
Asker+1 yYes, it is very annoying but I don't let their comments effect me in any way. I'm still going to workout & stay healthy.

+1 yThere's a false notion among women that working out = weight loss and can't wrap their brains around the concept of a woman having fitness goals that revolve around things like muscle gain. What you're doing is good just know that with you your goals you need to he putting strength training before cardio in order of importance and you need to be eating a lot more.

Asker+1 yI already eat a lot so eating a lot more isn't a problem for me lol but yes, thanks for your advice. I'm working out at home because we only have like one gym in our town & too many people go. I will definitely start doing strength training first before cardio. Thanks!
+1 yEveryone should work out to be their best version of themselves in my opinion. Def tone up and pursue your goals! Who cares if they jelly, more motivation right!

Asker+1 yThat's right. I'm not letting them stop me from reaching my body goals.

Being fit is getting more and more rare these days unfortunately, because of people making excuses and poor lifestyle choices, so people can really distinguish themselves from competition that way I think.
- +1 y
really? i think it's been the same. with more medical science research on the rise, people are more inclined to initiate a healthier lifestyle, in my opinion.
- +1 y
@BertMacklinFBI I don't know, but it seems to me that there's countless fat people in US that conveniently have a super rare medical condition that prevents them from being healthy lmao
- +1 y
those "super rare medical conditions" are 1 in a billion lol. bottomline, those people are just fucking lazy. seriously like 99.8% of the US population is capable of burning fat, so yeah. they have a shit argument to begin with.

+1 yExcept for a tiny percentage of the population, becoming and staying skinny requires maintenance in the form of exercise.
Anyone who has a problem with you exercising has their own problems, starting with the fact that they’re paying too much attention to other people at the gym and not enough on their own workout.11 Reply
Asker+1 yExactly. & the ones that say that don't even workout.
709 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I am skinny and I need to work out! Otherwise I have no muscle whatsoever, I need to train the muscles in my legs and arms.
But of course, when I work out more, I eat more as well. A girl who's starving herself should do something about that first, otherwise she'll do damage to her own body :-(10 ReplyNo but it is to do it excessively and begin to look unhealthy... Or to starve yourself but I'm pretty sure those rules doesn't apply to you.
Just ignore them and when they ask tell them unlike others I care about my health.11 Reply
Asker+1 yYeah those rules don't apply to me but their comments aren't going to stop me from working out, having a nice body & being healthy.
+1 yOf course it's not a crime. Some should know that working out isn't only for the purpose to get skinnier but also to stay healthy. Tell them that you work out to be healthy& stay in shape and not because you want to get any skinnier.
Asker+1 yYes & to tone up but some people just don't get that I guess.
+1 yThey are jealous that you're already smokin hot and are just going to get hotter and healthier by working out.

10 Replythey will get fat eventually so its best too try to keep a flat stomach
12 Reply
Asker+1 yThey're already fat. I've always had a flat stomach but I won't have it forever if I don't workout.
+1 yIsn't that how you stay skinny, eating less and working out?
Asker+1 yI don't think you have to eat less, just eat healthy!
- +1 y
Well I have to drop like 70 pounds or go on sugar meds. Diabetes sucks.
Asker+1 yYou don't even have to do like hard workouts. Just eat healthy & walk or run every morning. That's what my gma did & she has lost a lot of weight. She's a pre-diabetic.
- +1 y
I'm going to add walking daily as soon as the weather is better.
1.4K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. If you're doing tons of cardio and sweating like crazy people will look at you like you have a problem if you're skinny. I used to be the same way, but then I decided to start gaining weight and now people treat me much better.
00 ReplyWorking out is usually seen as a way of losing weight, what people don't realize is that for skinny people it just adds mass.
