The key to bodybuilding making sure to eat enough calories, to eat more protein, but to also increase the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables they consume as well. Too many body builders focus on protein and only protein, when getting in those nutrients from healthy carbohydrates is extremely important as well. Animal products (meat, dairy, eggs) are very acidifying to the body which actually slows down recovery rates and protein synthesis and increases inflammation in the body. Making sure to eat enough whole plant foods (which are alkalizing and reduces inflammation) in conjunction with these high-protein foods. Health should be the goal, aesthetics should just be a bonus.
