My crush coughed up blood but she doesn't care, should I be worried?

My crush coughed up blood but none of her friends, including her, seems to have cared about it. Her first reaction was about her clothes being stained, of course I panicked. I told her she should see a doctor but she said she was fine, she had worse. She said "this is nothing, I coughed up more blood yesterday". One of her friends also ensured me that is was "fine" saying that it was probably just stress. Does stress even cause someone to cough up blood? It she really just "fine"? Help?

She's not ok. Any blood in the digestive tract is not a good thing especially if it is due to something where digestive material can enter the bloodstream. This is like sewage getting into your drinking water.

Get it checked out. It could be an ulcer but unlikely at your age. Wait and it could kill you.

This is why the world has doctors who will run a series of tests to determine the cause and figgure out the treatment. If you could just look at someone and fix them we could get rid of modern medicine and diagnostics.

Maybe you could get her temperature, pole her skin and grab some blood, run a platlet count on it, etc.

Darn it. Well, I know that I will never get her or convince her to go to a clinic. I don't know what to do. I feel so helpless. I don't want her to die if it is would come to that. Thank you for your opinion. I really hope its okay. Its all I can do. Do you know if stress could be a cause?

Pneumonia and bronchitis are possibilities, tuberculosis is one too. So is lung cancer. And a few other illnesses I don't know about.

Even doctors miss seeing /hearing some symptoms at moments.

You should either call someone or suggest to either her or her parents that she see a doctor. Coughing up blood is bad and it might be a serious health problem so defintely urge and make sure she gets that checked out soon! Good luck to you and her!

She might be scared to find out if this something more serious. My advice is that you research a bit (Google "coughing up blood" and read a few pages to see if she displays any of the other symptoms) then when you have a general idea of what might be causing her to cough up blood tell her about these. Make sure you let her know that you're genuinely worried about her well-being. That might convince her to see a doctor and get help. Do this as soon as possible! You're a good person for worrying so much about someone who isn't very concerned about herself. Good luck and make sure she gets that checked out!

I never really got to talk to her again so I don't know. She looked fine last time I saw her, but I honestly don't know.

A tone of Stress can lead to major stomac pain which can cause it to bleed... If she coughed really hard then some of that blood could of came up to her throat. If this is the case, then the blood should be similar to coffee grounds

It was not cough hard at all. I thought it was light sneeze until I saw a blood stream down her mouth and blood on her clothes. I was terrified, but she looked disappointed or something. She was drinking water just before it happened and was laughing a lot at a face her friend made.

Since it seems like there is no possible way of making her go to the doctors... If you really care about her, then I suggest going to see one for yourself and discussing the problem and getting the required medications

Coughing blood is often seen with great angst and assumptions to the possible causes but its often pretty rare that its cause is serious and or even permenant. If it continues then you'll want to look into it but otherwise dont stress too much
