When I self harm I don't leave any long term marks. However I am scared by my memories where I was self harming during something. I can remember the times where the noise was way to loud in school and I poked my own finger so I could focus on the pain. Among other times these still haunt me because I know that I would still do it again. I won't be able to forget those times and they will always be with me I can't get rid of them or forget them. I simply have to live with it.

I know how you feel. Loud noises bring back memories, so I need to feel pain to distract myself. If I feel anxious in public, I'll clench my hands together really tight.
It just takes a while to heal from stuff, that's all. Someday the feelings will go away.

I never cut myself on purpose but I do have a couple of scars on my fingers because I used to play with pocket knives too much

Way back when I was a kid I used self harming to cope with things that I will spare you the details of but I voted none because I never left scars. I was a "wrist-banger" and I'd punch myself in the face but I didn't cut very often and I never cut very deep. I was more into bruising, really.

I just realized, in reading over my response, that I should've added that self harming is never a good way to cope. It didn't help AT ALL. The absolute best way to deal with something bothering you is to talk about it. Tell someone what you're going through, let all that bad stuff out. Let it go and tell someone who cares about you. You'd be surprised at how understanding a lot of people can be. It's never a good idea to hurt yourself and it only ends up making things worse for you.
