Okay, so about 5-6 years ago I accidentally jabbed a pencil in my foot. It hurt and bled a lot to the point I couldn't see the lead that was in my foot.
To this day (pic above) I still have it. Is that bad? Or is it okay?

You're fine. Quick story: I accidentally stabbed myself with a pencil 5 years ago. The part that broke off is still in my hand. It hurt at first, but now I don't feel it. In order to have it removed, I would need surgery, and I don't find that necessary unless it's proven to be lead.
There's a high chance that is ISN'T lead, since all pencils use graphite now. You should be fine. Unless you want a doctor cutting into your foot, I suggest that you don't think about it too much. Since it occurred so many years ago, it's unlikely that it will cause any health problems sometime soon. I'm not entirely sure just how safe graphite is, but, since it's in my hand, I wouldn't want to find out... Just know that it probably isn't lead.
You should go to that doctors get that thing taken out. That could cause some serious infection, thank god you found it in time. And one question how would you accidentally stab a pencil into your foot?
I'm sure it's not going to be to harmful, but I would still want to get that thing taken out. My grama had a something similar happen to her, and she made sure she went to the doctors as soon as possible.
I was reaching for a book and backed into the pencil. Yeah I know that was stupid but it was 5 years ago
Oh my god, I did the exact same thing but to my hand about 2 years ago, haha. I was at work and i was marking some wood to cut it, And reached into my pocket for my pencil and the Graphite prodded my hand and snapped off inside, So i got as much out as i could with my Stanley knife, But holy f*ck it hurt, haha.
You can still see myn today too

Holy shit, Thats so weird how we both have that haha, And, Its not Lead, its Graphite, They stopped using Lead a long time ago because it was poisonous ;).
I assume, That this is just led dust trapped under our skin. I don't know, haha. Though, I have no issues as a result of it?
Lead poisoning exists: www.google.be/search

It is not lead. Pencils use compressed graphite. Your fine dude. I actually have the same thing on my wrist. That is actually a type of tattoo. There are only microscopic traces of graphite left under your skin that your body can't absorb. Just like a tattoo.
I have one on the palm of my hand and in my knee. There's nothing wrong with this don't worry yourself about it this stuff happens more often than you think.
I've had mine for about 11 years and it's still there and I can feel it when I rub my finger over it :P
I have pen in my finger. I accidentally gave myself a tattoo basically
Haha why do you guys keep sticking yourselves with writing utensils?
@lonelyoldboy hahaha all of them are accidents. Actually last Wednesday, I was drawing and I cut myself with the pencil. Apparently I can't use them without hurting myself
Well as you probably know it's pencil lead isn't really lead (as in the element). It's a form of carbon known as graphite. I think it's non-toxic and I doubt that it will cause any problems. But if you ever have any pain or soreness at the site you may need to get it removed.
They don't make pencils with lead anymore. They replaced it with graphite.
Assuming it is graphite - you're fine.
But if it was lead it could be harmful because it is poisonous and can even cause brain damage.
It's okay, nothing wrong! I got such a similar spot on my middle finger when I, about three years ago, wanted to pick a pencil from a pencil holder filled with perfectly sharp pencils and one pencil tip slipped under my cuticle.
Well its only graphite so it should be okay. If it was actual lead then yes it would be harmful, but all pencils nowadays use graphite and not lead which is poisonous.
@brianna_b
That's better.
Its graphite so won't hurt you but its close to the surface you could soak your foot in a bucket of warm water and detol and pick it out with a needle
I have led in my hand.. I might upload a pic later to show you. I punched some kid in the face in the 6th grade and he stabbed me in my hand with the pencil. Never got it removed lol
It not harmful. Unless it really bother you , you can just leave it in there.
I don't think you could even have lead (or graphite) in your skin that long without it breaking down to some degree. It wouldn't hurt you either way due to amount and containment.
You should be okay as others have said. Does it hurt when you touch it?
No. It doesn't hurt at all
Okay, good. Then I wouldn't worry about it.
not lead its graphite not deadly it will work its way out eventually
It's fine. I still have a pencil tattoo on my ring finger from when I was stabbed in the 8th grade.
Does it hurt? If not, then it's fine. It's just carbon.
pencils aren't made out of lead any more it is graphite
The good news is pencils use graphite, not lead.
The bad news is you'll be dead within a year.
... you should probably ask a doctor about that one...
Its graphite. leads toxic graphites not
You do know that it's not lead, right?
Its fine
