Do you prefer to go alone or with a buddy?

When it comes to the gym, which do you prefer?

Alone.
I went with a buddy for a while. I don't think he was too bright. He'd do an exercise wrong & I'd correct him, he'd do it wrong again & someone else would correct him. He'd say I told him to do it the wrong way.
He never paid attention when I needed a spot, always chatting. Once I was doing tricep push downs. I said "little help here" he pushed the bar UP not down. I said gee thanks gravity would have done that.

Outside of my chest heavy day I prefer to go it alone. I have a pretty intense pace that is hard to keep up with (I give myself exactly 30 secs between sets on my rep days, I use a timer on my phone) plus I can be pretty intense to work out with. I will push you and I expect the same in return.
And all that can be really tough to do when you go with friends. The temptation to talk and joke around is just too strong.

Sorry, my train of thought broke. Having said all that, working out with the right type of buddy will get you better results.

Otherwise, I'll go alone. If you aren't competitive or as driven as I am, (sorry this might sound a bit mean, but it's honest) then I feel as though you're slowing me down.

I honestly prefer to workout out alone, but every once and a while it's nice to workout with someone and that's when I'll normally call up a friend to workout

There are very few people who can keep up with me at the gym. It takes away from my performance at the gym and makes me lose focus if I go with a partner.

I do both. A buddy has the advantage that you can stimulate each other to go above your limit.
