Are you a boxer/do you know how to box?

I know it's a random question but I'm just curious if you can box. If you answered yes, I'd really appreciate a learners tip for boxing.

I know about basic boxing, but I know a lot more about punches and blocks. You said you're looking for tips to help you punch faster, because you're kind of slow; and the best technique, IMHO, for quick and powerful punching is that of Jeet Kune Do. Here's a basic tutorial video, in which the guy actually explains the technique of JKD punching, and does it in a slowed down way so that you can see how to do it:

ya I box , for tips try not to brag about it , people get worked up when ya say you know how to box for some reason , best starter tip buy hand wraps , whichever ones you like their all good so you won't get cuts when you punch the bag a lot , learn a style of boxing I learned a couple my Brazilian jiu jitsu is better and I practice boxing more so its def good for workout , you sweat more shadow boxing than jogging so always good to use for exercise and remember street boxing is illegal DONT DO IT gl

It is similar, but it is a little different. If you can spare decently with you hands, you can pick up boxing easily.

Here is a tip that applies to any martial art including box; never lower your guard, and always be ahead of your opponent's attacks, so you can either dodge or block them.

If you want some tips watch some YouTube videos. They probably have entire series of training videos catering specifically to boxing. If you actually want to box go to a gym and spar. When it comes to fighting the only thing that really makes you good is repeated encounters... As far as me, I've been slightly trained as a boxer, spared with a golden gloves champ a number of times, did a lot of back yard boxing, and been in a few street fights. I'm not a boxer though, I'm a wrestler. :D It's fun to watch sometimes though.

Yes.

First, learn to relax, and above all, worry about technique first, rather than hitting as hard / fast as you can.

Remember, all punches start with a hip movement.

Above all, make sure you get in shape - boxing is a tremendous workout, and sparring will wipe you out fast.

Also, strengthen your hands and wrists now, while you're a beginner.

@Thisperson98 Combat Tai chi and Shaolin Kung fu. I did a tiny bit of Karate, Jiu Jitsu and Kick boxing as well, a long while ago.

That's my core technique as well- but in all honesty, punching's probably the weakest facet of TKD as a martial arts discipline. Especially since the Asker emphasised in the comments that he wants tips to be able to punch faster- TKD punches aren't particularly fast when compared to those of quite of a few other martial arts disciplines.

Do a lot of plyometrics to gain explosive body movement, shadow box everyday, explosive reps when strength training at the gym to build your fast twitch fiber muscles, eat a good diet, sleep well to recover.

I don't know if you spar but if you do try to spar multiple times a week eventually the movements will be like second nature after a while.

Boxing is better in my opinion for a more realistic fight. You'll get rocked a few times every now and then but it's worth the gain.

You said your friend's gym has legitimate boxers. If you join his gym, you can learn from all the people who are more advanced. Trust me they're not gonna bully you, the more advanced people are always thrilled to teach beginners like yourself.
