I swallowed a marble by accident, will I be ok?

As a 13 year old, you'd think I would know better than to put anything other than food in my mouth, but that's not the case. I was laying down, minding my own business, when that pretty pink marble I decided to pop in my mouth earlier, decided it wanted an adventure and slipped down my throat. I immediately panicked and rushed to the bathroom to puke. It didn't work. Anyway, the marble was less than an inch in diameter and had a roundish shape, but not completely flat at the top. It was pretty small and had no problem going down the esophagus. My problem is that I have a hole in my stomach, which I have been taking medicine for. I was just wondering if that would effect it or not. Anyway, I told my mom and she laughed at me and said I would be fine, but I just wanted some extra opinions on the matter. Not that I don't trust her or anything.

you'll be fine, i ate a mini billiards ball from a mini snicker table set once as a child (long story), it never did come out.. or at least i never noticed expelling it from myself (didn't want to take the time to poke my own excrement's everyday), but it has never bothered me to this day, as long as the object you swallow is small and smooth it should be fine, sometimes it'll get stuck in your stomach's floor (because if the cavity stomach's tend to have)

but if you really want to get it out of your system and don't mind being in the toilet for the next 24 hours then go to the supermarket and buy half a kilo of ripe to over-ripe papaya and eat it all without stopping, then drink about 1 glass of water, and then 1 glass of highly viscous edible oil like castor oil, mineral oil or unfiltered coconut oil

these would give you insanely bad diarrhea but will get anything out of your body and is best recommended for people who've swallowed sharp objects like a porcelain bridge that they refused to have recemented, we have a patient once in a blue moon have cases like these.

oh and word of caution, bring at least 5 gatorades with you to the bathroom, because very bad diarrhea can cause massive dehydration and loss of sodium content in your system, best way to recover is with gatorade or similar brands of drinks

If your mom says you'll be fine then 9 chances out of 10 you'll be fine. Try not to stress yourself out over it.

This happened to you 3 years ago. Did it ever come out? Or could it be stuck in the "hole" in your stomach? Even if it had gotten stuck in the hole or the stomach floor, and if it never caused any problem, you'll be fine. Did you ever take your hand and try to feel if the marble is in the stomach? If you take your fingers and lightly punch the stomach, try to feel if anything moves or bounces around in there. If you can feel it, chances are it would be the marble. If you don't, I would think the marble is long gone. As for trying to throw it up, if you would have used syrup of ipecac or something similar, that would have worked.

If you poo it out in a few days, you are fine. If not, see a doctor. Give it 4 or 5 days to be sure.

Yes, it will pass. I swallowed a quarter in a drinking game (bouncing quarters into glasses of liquor, then drinking the shot) once, and it went through me. It came out more shiny when I fished it out of the toilet with tongs.

You will be fine, I currently have swallowed 500 so far and that number will increase daily so I wouldn't worry about it and if you actually liked it then by all means carry on and see where it takes you.
