I'm around 5' 10". I weigh around 150-155. I NEED to tone up. I just can't stay consistent so I had an idea to get a personal trainer. What do you think?

You have a healthy BMI, even low. First ask to measure your muscle/fat ratio. If that is OK, your body is OK too. In any case, you don't need to loose any weight. On the contrary, if you want to tone up, you need to add muscle. So you will see a weight increase, rather than a loss, but your body will look better. Whether you do that by yourself or via a trainer (some gyms also have group lessons to tone up) that is your choice.
