Yes. A neighbor of a friend had this happen. The couple was elderly, and the husband was outside shoveling snow. He had a heart attack and hit the ground, it scared his wife so much, (she saw it through a window) that she had a heart attack and died.

Yeah it's completely possible, but it's not being afraid that actually kills them it's the shock to the body that induces a heart attack.
