7 moI think the majority of people who say no are lying. Or they're trying hard to convince themselves. No one knows for sure what happens after you die. And we all fear the unknown. It's the same for people in the past. They assumed sea creatures like whales and giant squids were sea monsters because they didn't know what they were. It's the same reason people thought when there was lightning or volcano eruptions, it meant the gods were angry with them. Because they didn't know what they were.
So I will say yes. I am scared to die. Especially now, when I haven't achieved any of my goals or done the things I want to in life.10 Reply

7 moNot in the slightest. It's just so foolish.

Does the thought of before you were born scare you?

Aging poorly & infirmity is terrifying, not death.

7 moEveryone is scared of death had you ever heard of "there are no atheists in foxholes"? Everyone that says no is because they never felt real pain and danger before. The only ones that seem to be less scared of death are those that survived it before.

7 moNo. I've lived my life literally like there is no tomorrow with no restraint. Inside and outside the normal moral constraints. I should have died at least a hundred times at this point. I understand what life is and I appreciate it. But if I die today, I know I've packed more into my years of existence thus far than 99% of people will ever know. There won't be any tears of regret or begging for more.

7 moNo.
The act of dying? Something destroying my body? Some forms of death are terrifying, burning to death or something slow and torturous are scary.
Something quick or growing old, not scary.
Leaving my body is not scary but how I leave, what I may feel or experience could be terrifying.

7 moSometimes, sometimes not. Less often but more real as I get into midlife and try to come to terms with it. I try and think about death at some point every day in a curious way, not an anxious way. No one knows what’s next (no matter what they tell you)

7 moThe possibility of dying early worries me.
I'm still "young" and intend to accomplish so many more things even at a ripe old age.
30 ReplyNo, death doesn’t scare me..
What truly scares me is wasting life, living small, unloved, or untrue to myself..
Death is inevitable, but regret is optional..
So I’d rather meet the end with peace than live forever in fear..31 Reply- 7 mo
Oh, that is so well written.

u 6 moEvery now and then, somewhat. I'm more worried about what happens with my soul afterwards, and with my family. It's also humbling to know that at this point, I have lived through the date of my death at least 38 times already.

7 moOf course the idea that I cease to exist as I do now is a scary thought, but at the same time it’s inevitable and I know once it’s over, I won’t care that I’m dead so it’s okay.

7 moNo I don't know what I was doing before I was born, yet I am still here. So I don't believe I need to worry about what happens after I die...

7 moNot at all. We all die... eventually.
What sometimes scares us is not knowing when death will come.

7 moNo. The promise of death gives every second meaning and value. Why did I waste 11 seconds on this question? The hope of waking people up. Delete this app. Stop wasting seconds. We dont have very many of them.

7 mono. death doesn't scare me. dying does. the act of dying is scary. i won't experience death, so that's not scary. dying however... that'll probably suck a lot.
