Whoa what? They are becoming either incompetent or stupid. Just because someone is single or does not want kids does not make them disabled. People have choices.
I think that is really great for homosexual couples because now they are given priority rather than with disdain.
"Disability" is too strong of a word choice here. A social shortcoming to NEVER have a partner when one wants one, yes... but DISABILITY? Fuck that's harsh.

Read the story. They're trying to make having babies into an obligation, even for gay couples. If you don't have kids, you're disabled.

it's a simple legality dude it's not calling people retarded. you are taking the term disabled wrong. they are saying a single person is disabled because they are unable to have the same access to adopting and IVF. not saying there is something wrong with the person but rather governments disable them by not giving them equal rights

These things are very sad, but taxes shouldn't go to pay for their IVFs. If they can't afford it, why do they think we should?
Yes, it is a simple legality, that can be taken both ways, and abused to take priviledges away from normal people. You're single? Can't own a gun, you're disabled. This is only one example of many ways this could go wrong, and with laws, every interpretation always gets used eventually. This is why, when writing laws, we have to be extremely careful about how they're worded in the first place.
This is like that study that took several years to conclude that someone who's in debt with no friends is more likely to be depressed than someone with a stable job and family.
