Badly destroyed retina?

OK so last year I had a bad accident that lead to infection that almost claimed my eye. After a few months the infection destroyed my retina to the point where I may never get 20/20 vision back. I'm afraid to travel because I'm afraid of getting another infection... does anyone else have the same issue? If so can you please share your experience? I want to get my hope back that maybe one day I can see again... Feel free to go anon if you want...

Air pollution if you plan to fly in plane can hurt the eyes.
Sometimes different places we travel to the air is bad and
it can hurt the eyes. My advice is talk to the eye specialist
cause they would know best on what to do. You may need
to wear protective eye wear to prevent your eyes from getting
any pollution and becoming a risk for infection. I know myself
i wouldn't be taking risk to I speak to a eye specialist.
