Starting a new antidepressant?

I was on welburtin (idk if i spelt that right) but the doctor just switched me to prozac. I've never seen this doctor so she didn't really know a lot about me.. the 1st med was working great but then I started to get depressed again and it started not working as well so I had to see someone to get it upped or changed (my insurance changed so I couldn't goto my old one) I'm scared to start this new medicine because I don't want it not to work. I found one that worked for me but after 5 months it stopped working.. have any of you been on prozac before? I'm really nervous about switching

I'm sure your doctor knew what they were doing. If there old stopped working anyway then why are you so scared to "switch"? Is the prospect of this new medicine having any negative side effects making you hesitant? Has that type of thing happened to you before? Anyway, my guess is that you're just overthinking it. I've heard of Prozac before and have not heard of people taking it having any bad side effects because of it.

the 1st thing this new doctor said when she suggested it is "we have a lot of problems with this one and it seems to cause a lot of suicidal thoughts so keep an eye on that" and that just freaked me out, this is the 1st time I'm switching my meds, I just know a lot of people have a hard time finding meds that work and don't make them worse so I'm nervous about switching because I don't want to get worse
