Snoring issues?

At work I have an allergic reaction every day, I've had to go to the urgent care after work before because it was hard to breath and my ears swell up and all. My dr told me to take a Benadryl before bed, take an allergy pill and muccinex while at work. I never took the Benadryl because it makes me very sleepy and I don't get enough sleep to be able to take it but I took an allergy pill and muccinex while at work for a while. I stopped taking them because It didn't really seem to make a difference if I took it or not so I just stopped. Now I live with my boyfriend and he says I snore really bad, I never did before so I'm thinking it's because of the reaction because it causes a lot of drainage and congestion. I've thought to switch jobs but it happens a lot in buildings doesn't matter if I'm at the mall, Drs office, dentist, shops it just happens everywhere so I'm sorta out of luck on that. I've tried mouth pieces and they just don't stay in and I can't sleep with it in, so I'm just curious if anyone has any recommendations for something that works to help the snoring. I've seen those breath right strips before but I'm not really sure if they work good or not. I generally try to sleep propped up, when I was younger I had a sternum injury so it's hard to lay flat for me. He makes me feel bad for snoring and I just don't have any idea what to do or what would really work.

I bought these... A bit overpriced, but I did breathe better a bit. I rarely use them since I sleep alone 11 months out of the year and rarely have that much of a breathing problem. I also have a deviated septum. So, for me, they weren't worth it, but I am still glad that I have them. They DO work better than nasal strips.

What are you allergic to?
Have you tried nasal sprays?
Did you know the Americans with Disabilities Act guarentees your right to a safe workplace if your accomodations are doable?

Do you take any daily antihistamines like Allegra or Zyrtec?

I think it's the cleaners that are used. As soon as I walk in the building my eyes and nose are running and just have so much drainage all day long. Especially if they wax I can't breath and get a headache, couple times I had to go to er because the reactions were so bad. There's quite a few people who have issues with allergies and they say it's just at work and nothing is done. My manager tries hard to get them not to wax the floor when a few coworkers or I are there but now they've gotten to where they don't care and do it anyways. I was taking Allegra with the muccinex when I worked but it wasn't making a difference if I took it or not.

You could try claratin and/or zyrtec and see if those work better for you. Like zyrtec is the only one that works for me out of the three. You can also talk to your allergist about considering H2 blockers like pepcid. And I don't know if your breathing issues start in your sinuses but if they do a nasal steroid can help a LOT.

I think that if you can try to minimize as many small reactions as possible then you may not have as many big reactions because your "cup" will be less full.

Honestly if it's just a matter of cleaning the floors a different time of day that is a 100% reasonable accommodation. Get a note from the allergist for documentation and if they're still difficult you can start talking lawsuits. I know it's hard to think about but you deserve the chance to earn a living.

And for further motivation you know that every time you have a severe reaction like that, the next one will be worse. Epipens are too expensive to risk yourself this much.
