Oh sweet i got 4 wisdom teeth pulled. You have come to the right place.
Does it hurt? It hurts after the procedure, not during the procedure if your dentist uses enough anesthesia. You can barely feel anything.
How long it takes depends on the position, orientation of the teeth. In my case i had two teeth that were in a normal position and were oriented correctly with the top part facing up (how it should be), those take around 15 minutes or less each to get pulled, They basically just remove them with pliers.
Then i have 1 tooth that was sort of lyingsideways and the dentist had to cut gum to discover it, then he pulled it out with pliers. This one took about 35 mintues i think, after taking it out he had to put stitches to close the wound.
Then the last tooth was lying sideways, but it was also kind of welded to the bottom jaw bone, so the dentist had to cut gum and the use a hammer and chisel to break the tooth free from the bone. This one took around 90 minutes alone, maybe more.
The way my dentist did it is, he extracted left top wisdom tooth, and right bottom wisdom tooth, then i returned 2 weeks later and he took the other 2 last wisdom teeth. They shouldn't extract both wisdom teeth from one side the same day, because of the pain, and that side of the face is gonna be so swollen. So in advance ask your dentist if he plans to do it this way or not.

I had all 4 pulled out at the same time and I wasn't put to sleep.
It's really not that bad. they numb you and then start cutting and digging and stitching. it took like maybe 2-3 hours.
the part that hurts is after when the numbness begins to wear off. you gotta get your painkillers ASAP or you're gonna be grouchy.
He will Give you some Novane so you don't Feel Any.. Pain. You might just Feel some Pulling, is all.
Not a Big deal Today to Do it in One day. And your might Experience some uncomfortfulness when the Needle wears off, so Fill your Precription for Pain when you Leave his office, gauze in your mouth. At least for an hour or so.
You could Return to School the Next day, if you Want, or Take One Day for Yourself to Relax and to Feel your ol self Again, my Friend.
Good luck. xx
everyone reacts to the anesthesia differently. Some people have been fine to be up and about and leave the house the next day, others are bedridden for a few days. It doesn't hurt during the surgery because of anesthesia, but it will hurt after that wears off.

The length of surgery depends on how deeply the teeth are buried and if the roots are entwined with other teeth etc. Overall I'd guess several hours including induction if you have anesthesia. Expect a fair amount of bleeding afterwards. they will likely NOT give you much for pain outside of Motrin or Tylenol.
Expect to feel miserable for a day of two, and lousy for another day. You might be able to force yourself into school the next day but don't count on it. I'd allow two days off as a minimum, but you may be tougher than me.If sideways below the gum line like mine it hurts and you'll be down 2-3 days and swollen. Get all 4 done at once cuz if you do it piecemeal you won't go back. If they've came out and are just pulled it isn't so bad as long as you don't get a dry socket. Don't smoke, vape, drink with a straw any sucking action that might upset the packing.
These are all questions the dentist can/should have answered.
Get knocked out, it's the best.
You don't want to be awake for it.
I was sore for have a day afterwards.
If you get it done on a Friday you will be good to go my Monday for school.Mine was 45 min but I had a very good doctor. It doesn't hurt but it can sound weird... I suggest to get some headphones then it's not even that bad. Theoretically u can go to school the next day but I stayed at home just because I can
It varies a lot with the individual. For me it was no big deal. I could have gone into work right after the appointment.
ask to be put to sleep. thats how i got all 4 out at once. but mine came out beforr they even came in
it takes about an hour it doesn't hurt because they numb your gums, you won't miss school unless its on a school day, you get a small pain hours after when the nova Caine wears off, as if you lost a tooth when young but it heals fast.
OMG so scary! How do you know when your wisdom teeth even come in? Do you feel it?
Oh my oh my. Ur gonna be in a world of numb then pain
