If you got ketoacidosis you'd feel like absolute shit. Are you diabetic? It only happens if you have large amounts of sugar floating around in your blood. Get a test meter they don't cost that much. If your blood sugar doesn't go above 240mg of sugar per deciliter of blood you won't develop ketones.
i'm not diabetic. im just doing a low carb diet which also produces ketones because of your body breaking down fat. the acidotic state can result metabolically which is what i'm afraid of. i don't want my blood to become too acidic and i'm not sure is 40mg/dl is at that point or not.

2) don't use strips use a glucose meter that measures ketones

it's sounds like you should not be doing keto because you do not understand it and that is dangerous.
your glucose should be in the 50-70 range and your ketones between 1.5-2.5 to be in ketosis.
but like I said, you should immediately stop this diet and learn more before you severely injure yourself.
Dude you are just not being helpful. I understand the diet, i am not even remotely diabetic (and fyi 50-70 mg/dL of glucose is called hypoglycemia and is NOT healthy for anyone), and I AM in ketosis. That is NOT my question. My concern is how far can I go before I put myself at risk for possibly going into ketoacidosis. Can you please answer the question or not at all. Thank you
50-70 is good while in ketosis.
and as I said no one can tell you about your ketoacidosis other than a health care professional
