Sad to say that Indian men are stereotyped pretty badly. Have a close friend who's Indian and he's the nicest guy in the world and super successful. However, most women look at him and think he's exactly what you said a creep. Which is the furthest from the truth.

On the battleground of society vs chicks.
The sex ratio here is sort of screwed up. People are desperate to say the least. On top of that, male and female interaction until a later age of 21 is still looked down upon in large parts of society. When I say interaction, I mean something simple as just talking.
So, if you want to please the society, which is something your parents want because you don't want them cutting you off and leaving you without support to sustain yourself, you don't do shit until you arrive at a later age where you're really hungry and confused about what to do. Remember that you don't even know how to talk to a woman, let alone understand one. You try some things and you end up becoming a brother instead (the Indian friendzone), and you decide to take on more direct paths. Except you don't really know what to do. So you end up being a creep, or remain too nice to attract any girls.

On the opposite end, the rebel has interactions with girls and does not want to please society. Your parents are disappointed in you, but they'll still support you. (India) He realises that Indian girls like arrogant, agressive, assholes because that somehow stands out of the crowd and shows confidence. Except, women are community creatures. They won't really stick around without the approval of their peer group and society. So after a few rounds of the girl leading him on, he might get lucky if she finds him rich, good looking, or popular enough before she goes away. But hey, that still has more of a chance of success than being a gentleman or even a man.
Soon, the third kind is introduced where the individual is a miserable person looking to manipulate others and get shit out of the preys which seem weak. That's how he pleases everyone and gets what he wants. Sad.

Thanks for taking the time to reply in such detail. Didn't realize India was so skewed towards dating at an earlier age. Guess it makes sense since arranged marriages are?/were so rampant at one time. Which would cause for the need for socializing with women before marriage something of a plus, but not a requirement. However, dating without arranged marriage being a guaranteed futuristic destiny. You're being set up for failure by not getting the proper "training" and "experience" it takes to attract women.

Can't really help it. That's the way things are. No one wants to know their daughters and sisters are being fucked. And if they find out, murder is often commonplace. And, yes. Arranged marriage is still pretty prevalent and it's just a business negotiation between families where they exchange their assets.
India is a fucked up place when it comes to society.
