You get a bigger butt when you create muscle hypertrophy and eat enough to repair the muscles so that they can grow afterwards. There are several ways to achieve this and weighted squats is one of them, but it is not the most effective one since it has greater activation in the quads. Glutes are better activated in hip extension, some good exercises include deadlifts and hip thrusts. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't be doing squats, squats are an amazing exercise but if you're trying to grow your butt you're gonna need much more than that. Also, is really really hard to grow your lower body without using weights, using bodyweight can help to shape it but not grow it, it might help to grow it a little bit at first but you're gonna have to add weight in the future.
They may a little but only doing squats won't work all your butt muscles.
Well Squats are a compound exercise meaning they work multiple muscles, squats work every part of the leg all the way up to your lower back.
The Glutes or ass muscles are one of the ones they work. And what happens when a muscle is worked and repaired? It gets bigger and more shaped/toned.
But Squats are primarily a leg exercise but it works both as I said since it is a compound exercise.

It'ss not about bigger butt. Actually it gives your butt a peach type shape.
Of course they do however don't expect to have a big butt by exercising one time. It takes time and dedication.
