
Do squats really make your butt "BIG" or is it all a lie?


Squats will make it rounder, firmer, perkier, nicer to the touch. However your butt will always be proportionate to your body size, so therefore... it can't be 'big' in comparison to you, yourself. Also it's not purely squats, running and hiking are also great, bridges, lying butt lifts, are also very good.
People whose butts can actually be considered 'big', think demi rose. That's not naturally possible, through exercise. She looks lovely, and I'm sure she does exercise, but the only reason her body looks like that is because she gets regular liposuction, especially in her waist area. So her hips in proportion to her waist looks very big, That's one way to do it. It looks overly large. Also, look at kim k's early photos, her butt is gorgeous, round and sexy, but it's not 'big' it's proportionate! At the moment... it's big alright.
Compare these two examples to alexis ren and emily ratajkowski. Their butts are also incredibly famous and beautiful, but not 'big' proportionate!!!
So no... squats can't make your butt BIG like you see on some people. I would advise, to start toning up, and just wait for the results on yourself instead of comparing yourself. You will look good regardless! <3

3. Exerise doesn't spot reduce fat, you won't lose fat in just the area you are training, you lose everywhere, but for that you need caloric deficit.
Squats will train your ass muscles. If you have a fat ass chances are your ass will shrink because even if your muscles grow you will lose fat. If your ass is skinny then it's going to get bigger since so will your muscles.
But the women on the pic is not a good example. The ass on the pic is not a good example. That is not a trained ass, that is simply a girl with a big ass with luck to not have any celulite. It's not firm at all. A ass that squats will be firm and be perky.
It'll tone it and give it more definition and more in shape but it won't make it bigger. The only way it can get bigger is through genetics, butt implants, or putting more weight on.

Because this got MHO. I feel obligated to inform you all, this is bullshit. The glutes are muscle just like every other. They absolutely do grow when you progressively overload them with heavy exercise just like every other muscle.
And because they're such a vital muscle to the human anatomy, they will readily grow even more than most other muscle.
You get "tone and definition" by lowering your bodyfat percentile. Squats, are not gonna do much there. The beat ways to get "tone and definition" are through your eating habits, and cardiovascular exercises. You need to be consuming fewer calories than you're burning in a day. Squats are useful for building muscle, not losing fat.
@Torari oh goodie health advice from a fucking 21 year old. listen kid I been weight lifting when you were still in diapers so I know a thing or two about weight training. all weight lifting does NOT build muscle it merely sculps and adds definition NOTHING more. The only reason you see people get bigger muscles is when they eat more and consume more calories making them gain more muscle and body fat which I stated earlier about putting more weight on since you're to damn dumb and clearly fucking illiterate to know how to read. And losing body fat helps tone the muscles more showing more definition in them. And when you do weight lifting of any kind all you're doing is building up your tolerance for higher weights much like drug addicts build up their tolerance hence needing higher doses for their fix. But with weight lifting you can only lift so much given your weight if you want to lift more you need to put weight on to lift heavier weights. But I wouldn't expect you to understand that simple concept junior

The scientifically proven fact is that muscles need a stimulus to grow in size and strength (which are linked). That stimulus, must be high resistance, the kind only available through a progressive overload. You have to break down to high power muscle cells with a high load, so that the body has a reason to build them back bigger and stronger. If you just eat, you get fat. You don't get muscular.
Progressive overload coupled with adequate nutrition makes muscles bigger. This is a scientific fact no amount of your "experience" will change. Just because you always trained like a pussy and never gained muscle as a result, doesn't mean training doesn't grow muscle as you claim. You really think someone line arnold schwarzenegger was born with all that muscle?
And don't try crying "ooh but muh steroids". All steroids do os increase your natural capacity, they do not add capacities that where not there. I have personally proven this by gaining 17kg of muscle, though progressive overload training since i was just a teen.
There are actually 2 ways of measuring bodyfat with a good degree of accuracy.
1. MRI is 99.9% accurate, this is scientific fact.
2. Eyes, the human body shows a significant visual change with changes in bodyfat levels.
And by the way, calling a 21y man a "kid" proves absolutely nothing other than the fact that your insecure in your argument and thus feel the need to devalue my input based on an arbitrary factor without knowing anything about me.

Heck, you don't even necessarily need a caloric surplus for muscle growth. The human body is absolutely capable of converting fat stores into muscle fibers. All you need for muscle growth is a little excess fat (14% is fine for men, 21% for women), and a positive nitrogen balance, which you get through eating protein.
As long as you're not in an overwhelming deficit, where the body is converting all the fat it can to energy (generally 300-500 calorie deficit), you can build muscle while losing fat.

It's called ripping or microtearing the muscle tissues so they repair and regrow themselves back that's how it get's bigger. And it only gets bigger by an 1" maybe 1.5" at the most. @Torari and another bit of info junior eyes don't do much in terms of measuring body fat. you need calipers for that or in one of those specialized machines which cost a fortune and i'm to damn lazy to look up the names of them but each body builder both natty and steroid freaks are required to use them before each competition so the judges know where they stand body fat percentage wise as well as their trainers.
@Torari they can even use the body fat analyzers machines while being submerged under water for better accuracy but again i'm to damn lazy to look up the friggin name of the machines they use. And for the average joe smo at home he can use either a scale which says his/her body fat but only reads from the feet up to your ass cheeks or he/she can use a hand held body fat analyzer which measures from the chest arms down to the waiste and stomach right above the ass cheeks

Its all a big lie. If you watch the pseudo reality show Botched everyone wants to have their asses done. I will never understand the obsession with having an ass that needs its own zip code.
Since squats are quad dominant exercises, you need to make sure that you are engaging your glutes every time. My but got bigger doing banded squats, treadmill on high incline, and leg press. Also hip thrusts, donkey kicks, and squat holds.

Yes it does but not weight (fat). It adds muscles and definition. But remember to always do it with right with correct posture and technique. Doing it the wrong way cause the interior tilt of the pelvic, which may make it seem like it's big but actually is very bad to health and posture.

But yes, squats do make your butt bigger. Assuming you progressively overload and are eating enough, squats will make the Gluteus Maximus muscle larger. Just like any other muscle.
Squatting absolutely will never under any circumstances make your butt smaller. The only things that can do that, are losing fat, or quitting exercise.
Losing fat is good though, a fatty big ass isn't nearly as attractive as a fit big ass. And the restvof your body will be much more attractive with less fat.
look at how she is standing. Her butt is not actually that big, She is leaning forward a bit and arching her back.. Dont use Thots like that as a model of what you should look like. Not every one can have a butt like that, and most men simply do not care.
I would prefer that if a girl wants to increase her hip size, she should gain weight in her thighs too so things actually look natural. A big butt is nice, but if she has really small thighs in comparison like the photo in this question, it doesn’t look that good.

It will make it bigger but squats focus primarily on your quads. If you want to grow a big ass, other exercises such as dead lifts that target the glutes will be more effective.
