Lots of make-up and cosmetic surgeries. Like you said, they are idols, they have managers or agents, and have contracts with entertainment companies, they have to look good 24/7.
That being said, I do not find them perfect nor handsome. They don't even looked manly at all, they looked like little girls. Plus, they are not even that musically talented, in my opinion. It's not like they wrote and create their own music. They can only sing and dance.

No, they look like fucking cyborgs. Do you know what the "uncanny valley" is? It's a diagram that explains how humans respond to anthropomorphic looks. If a robot, for instance, looks obviously like a robot, not like a human, we have no problem with it. But the closer it looks to a human, the creepier it seems to us.

Humans aren't perfect. They're skin has flaws, it's not a perfect surface. We see tons of photoshopped model pictures. But that's pictures. When you see a *real* person in *real* life with such supposedly "perfect" (i. e. fake) skin, it just looks unnatural. Like a cyborg.

Also, they look like girls. Which is okay, if that's what you're into. But I'm not. I'm neither into actual girls, nor into boys who look like girls.

For the same exact reasons why western supermodels look like mannequins. The thousands of dollars spent on hair products and colored contact lenses help too.

This is also assuming that you consider looking like a 14yr old and singing annoying music "perfect."

South Koreans have a trend for plastic surgery, and they start earlier than your average neighbour.
They have a sort of ubermensch ideology, so in Seoul you see ads with overperfect men and women. Everyone must be perfect, if you are not, you're a loser. It's a tough society in this aspect.
