Guys what does "Lunch Date" mean?....

This guy and I have been friends for about 6 months...the past 4 have been spent flirting and texting. We see each other about once a week. Chill watch movies...he kisses me aloooooooot. I've kissed him once.

I don't want a boyfriend...its to much trouble and he doesn't want a girlfriend because he's not in the best place for one (i.e financially) ... I like my freedom and he knows that.

and last week I was drinking at a party and I was supposed to go over, but when he figured I was going over because I was drinking he stopped reply(text)... he knows I want FWB, but he is trying to change that? He brought up Vday and asked about my plans I changed the subject..

He asked me if I wanted go eat this week...I said sure...and he said lunch(friday).



I've never been on a "lunch date"...is this a "date"?

Does he just want to be "normal" non-kissing friends now or is he being considerate to the fact that I don't want a relationship?

Great so its not a date...that is such a relief! Because he is a really cool guy and we have like everything in common, I don't want to lose him as a friend.

It's not a date but he might drop some feeling on you though. I think he wants a relationship by turning down sex. He might not want to get all worked up knowing he might get heartbroken later. So yea he's being considerate and it's killing him inside. If talks ever do happen, I would assure him no you don't want a relationship but if you did then it would be with him.

Why would I tell him if I did want a relationship it would be with him?...thats not really true...should I lie to him? He's really cute(hot), funny, we have lots in common...but I can't see actually having a relationship with him(we're in two different places in our lives)

Well I figured if you were down to have FWB with him and you were good friends with him then if at some point you were looking for a relationship why not be him. I'm just saying nothing hurts more than liking someone who wants to be single so you have no chance but to accept it, but then see that person date someone else before you could have a chance to ask.

I think people have FWB w/non relationship material...or I thought they did. I don't think it would hurt him because he talks about how he likes his single life.

I really hope I don't hurt him because I know he's shy/sensitive(from what I've observed), but he tries to act a different way.

Well have fun with that, I would have a hard time sexing a girl if I had a lot of feelings about her knowing I won't be able to date her. At some point though there will be a disconnect from the friendship. If he does lose feelings for you he will probably be more likely to have sex with just so he can at least get half of what he wanted.

Hope so..this guy keeps saying he wants to hook up. But every time we get down to it...he's like lets wait til (insert excuse)...then he wants to hangout again.
