I found a tick on my underwear (I know embarrassing) but I don’t see a bite, or bump?

I was in the bathroom, and I saw a tick on the rim of my underwear. It wasn’t attached to my underwear because I whacked it off harder than anything I’ve ever hit before, I thought I saw a weird looking bug on my bed a few days ago, so I whacked it off, I’m pretty sure it didn’t actually die, so it probably just got on me anyway. But why was it on my underwear? How the hell did it get there?

Anyway, for more info.. I have a dog, and I don’t live in the northern part of America where Lyme Disease is prominently located, I couldn’t find a bite unless it bit my scalp. At least no small red bumps. Nothing itches either, I don’t feel sickly (besides feeling like I have Lyme disease, obsessing over it, and worrying about dying) I can’t think of any other info that would help tbh.

Honestly, I just wanna know has anyone had Lyme Disease (or have it) and I searched and researched so hard on it, but I haven’t really gotten a direct yes or no. Will it’s complications kill me? Also is my dog gonna be okay if she transmitted the tick?

They just get in weird places sometimes. I have a cat that comes and goes in and out of the house as he pleases, and he usually comes in at night and sleeps in my bed with me, and sometimes he brings a tick with him. I woke up in the middle of the night once with one crawling on my cheek, I’ve had one fall out of my hair during the day, and I’ve gone to the bathroom and found one on the inside of my thigh. It happens. I just pull the suckers off and set them on fire to kill them lol.

From what you’re describing though, the tick you saw wasn’t attached to you. It was just crawling on your clothing. If it had bitten you, it would have been stuck to your skin. Ticks don’t just take one measly little bite and call it a day, they aren’t like other bugs. When they bite you, they literally attach themselves to your skin and will suck blood out of you until the moment you pull them out and off of you. So in your case, the tick most likely hadn’t even bitten you yet if you managed to get it off by just swatting at it. And if you’re looking for bite marks or bumps like the kind mosquitos leave or something, don’t bother, because they don’t leave things like that. Even if it was attached to you and had bitten you, unless it was all swollen and starting to change colors and had obviously been there for quite a long time, you aren’t going to get Lyme disease.

Next time you find one, pick it up with a pair of tweezers or something and either flush it down the toilet or put it in a glass and set it on fire with a lighter. Those are the easiest ways to kill them, they’re already flat so they can’t be squished as easily as other bugs.

Ticks stick to you until they’re full of your blood, I’m supposed you’ve seen so many despite having your cat go outside.

It takes like 2 weeks for them to get that filled up though, so you’d have noticed before, and if it was filled up it’d look like this: so you definitely weren’t even bit yet.

But yeah, I also live in a heavily wooded area in northern Georgia so I’m bound to get one on me basically every time I walk into my backyard lol

I am not sure how you ended up with a tick in your panties. Could you have been in tall grassy areas or woodsy areas. I don't have Lymes disease but I know many who have it and they suffer badly. One friend in particular has developed a deadly allergic response to eating meat. All caused by being bitten by a tick and contracting Lymes disease. With that said as long as you do see any red welts you should be fine. Whenever you are outside you need to make sure you check yourself for any hitchhikers.

Hate to break it to you but lyme disease is predominant all over, doctors just deny it!.

Go to the doc asap, lyme can go chronic if not treated and docs won't help

You’ll be fine. It sounds like the tick didn’t actually bite you. If you notice a red ring or get flu like symptoms go to your doctor immediately. If you say you saw something on your bed it’s possible it could be a bed bug. It’s also possible your dog may have fleas. These can get anywhere. That’s possibly what you may have found on your underwear.

It was a tick, I don't know if it was a deer or a American dog tick but if was a tick. It’s so weird how it was in my underwear

Maybe it was a dog tick after a little pussy (sorry bad joke). Maybe you should go and buy some shampoo for your dog to get rid of the ticks or take him to the vet to help get rid of them.

You're fine. If a tick actually bites you, it'd actually be attached to you. Since you found it crawling, that means it never bit you.

Yeah, but when they're full, they bloat. Like you can VISIBLY tell they've fed, because the blow up like a balloon lmao.

You're most likely fine, but if you're super worried about it, you could always go to the doctor, but I don't really think it's necessary.

Go to the doctor for yourself and the vet for the dog. Nothing beats an expert
