If you've been lifting for a year and a half, you should be ready to start paying more attention to methods rather than lifts. Methods are the real key.

You need a trainer. Because if you train wrong you will lose muscle mass. And yes, you should compare yourself to him when he was your age. But you definitely need more calories. Did you listen to his interviews? He had 5000, yes correct five THOUSAND calories a day, not in unhealthy food.

Tbh I don’t think so since like you said bulking up is something you struggle with so that’s everything because the first guy has a great size to him.
First off I'm 16 and he's like in his 30s so he has had a lot more time to gain weight than me and I'm not even fully developed yet. gaining size is hard but not impossible in the last year I've only gained about 12ibs but still I'm 16 so I still got time I was more of talking about if I could get my body to look like his via chest arms shoulders abs etc
