Unless your teeth are totally wrecked, are braces a good investment or a waste of money? Do they magically make your teeth perfect?

braces ruin peoples faces. if you want to be attractive, don't wear braces.

if your teeth are THAT messed up, practice how to properly place your tongue at the roof of the mouth.

the reason most people have crooked teeth, is because they are mouth breathers and or do not learn how to keep the tongue rested at the roof of the mouth.

braces will eventually make your face look oldER years after you've removed them, they push the face back, making you not just look older sooner, but also making your face less attractive. They also will cause you to snore more in the future if you already snore, and if you didn't snore, you'll soon start to snore, plus can cause sleepapnea and other related symptoms long after you've taken them off.. the aftermath is really awful. ..
and THEN after, you still have to wear retainers for the rest of your life to keep the new narrow ugly shape the braces have created.

The reality is you don't need retainers at all if you learn how to properly place your tongue at the roof of the mouth. The tongue is the strongest and BEST "retainer" anyone can have.. and it's free. but most dentists will not tell you this. it's just a learning process and to make it a habit in how to properly place it.

If you will get braces regardless... at least research a little on it and opt for face forward braces instead of any other type... maybe even look into the ALF appliance or the DNA appliance.. they both are better than traditional braces or any other teeth straightening devices out there.. because at least they don't push your face back and are against extractions which in the future you will be thankful for.. a more youthful looking face and more attractive as well... whereas others tend to want to extract your teeth for faster results but what they focus on is simply aligning your teeth while sacrificing your face/ appearance and anything else alongside your wallet.

if you're gonna spend money, do it wisely. don't allow anyone to extract teeth and don't go for braces that push your face back.. which are most braces. you'll regret it later when your face starts to show the ugliness after years of having them removed.

i can go on forever, i did a lot of research on it.. but i just tried to tell you the most obvious. perhaps even research mewing with dr mew.

I had braces. Good thing my parents payed for them. They cost 5000 USD. If you wear your retainer, they will most likely stay straight. Once you take your retainer off, your teeth will shift back to their original positions and by that point, having braces wouldn’t be worth it.

Straight teeth are easier to keep clean, which speaks to tooth and jaw health down the line, and teeth that don't sit right can erode your jaw bone. Talking to an orthodontist about the health of your mouth is a good way to know if you should get braces or not.

My mouth used to be a nightmare. When I was a kid, I fell from a scooter onto a sidewalk and landed mouth-first on the pavement. That really threw things out of alignment. On top of that, I had overcrowding teeth. Icing on the cake, I had to get all my wisdom teeth removed, plus one molar. 😬 Without braces my mouth would be a total mess.

Getting a professional opinion for such a major body part like your mouth is always worth it.

There's a lot they can do. If you want good teeth alignment then they're worth it. Although there's newer cheaper alternatives that I see now which might be worth looking at. A consultation with an orthodontist will let you know. Some people might need to have teeth removed if they've got issues with growth and overcrowding as well. All depends.

The best investment you can make for your teeth are daily fat soluble vitamins from fermented Cod liver oil. Many teeth problems, even the need for braces are due to a deficiency in those. Your Doctor / Dentist should know about this... ask them.

But wouldn’t you have to take care of your teeth properly while the braces are on in order for the braces to fix what you got them on for? I had a friend who had her braces on for two years and her teeth only got more crooked/worse because she wasn’t properly taking care of them.

Ohh umm yes I suppose if you don't follow the orthodontists advice and eat caramel and gum and never brush your teeth they can get screwed up
