-Turn off all electrical devices 1 hour before bedtime to allow your mind to rest and relax: Television, computer, ipod, laptop, radio, cellphone etc
-Keep yourself hydrated throughout the day, do not wait until you are thirsty. Little sips of water throughout the day will help keep you well hydrated, although it's recommended to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
-Make sure your bed is comfortable. If you need a new mattress, invest in a new one, if you need new pillows, buy some new ones, if you need bed padding to add a little comfort, buy one(they aren't expensive at all).
-Go to sleep and wake up every single day at the same time. You shouldn't try to make up for lack of sleep over the weekend by sleeping in because it's bad for you.
-Try to remain stress free and relax. I have trouble sleeping also and part of it is because my mind is always racing and it keeps me up:/ I used to meditate 5 minutes before bed every night to help my mind calm down but I haven't done that in a long time.

hmmm...warm milk works. I tend to put an icepack on my back. relaxes me. try it out.
Yeah maybe try that errr... Horlicks. Also I find lavender and tea tree scented oils really soothing and relaxing every once in a while. Just sprinkle a little on your cushion before you go to bed.
If the problem persists then you should see your GP, and if your GP can't find anything wrong, maybe see if they think you should see a therapist and if they can refer you. See if it's not something physical then it could be something psychological on a sub conscious level.
Open more windows in your house, turn the heating down, or find something to do which isn't trying in vain to sleep. Read, eat, drink, watch TV, pleasure yourself, go for a walk, turn the radio on, use internet radio (Classic FM from London is good), or if worst comes to worst fantasize about killing yourself (or others).

Try not to drink caffeine at all. Sometimes you can get a machine that makes relaxing noises and stuff that can help. I sometimes have this problem as well. Also are there distractions in your room do you have a TV or computer they say the bedroom should only be for sleeping and sex I guess.
Sounds like its because of the season (getting warmer, pollen, etc...) you need to put more information if you want people to specifically know what your problem is.
