How do I know if my knuckle is broken?

i got slashed in the hand in lacrosse and it has been getting worse day by day. it started to swell up then it got very bruised and now i can barely move my hand. it is my bottom knuckle of my middle finger so i need opinions. please help

i’ve been icing it so that helps me control the swelling and it is easier to bend my fingers but not very far because it causes pain

Could be a fracture. But I think u need to go to the dr cuz if it is broken and ur not sure it’s going to heal but be deformed so.

It could be broken or fractured. If you can move your finger its probably not broken. You'll need an xray to find out for certain.

no improvement. i’m trying to keep moving it so i’m not as scared of it being broken but it hurts a lot. it continues to swell more up and down my hand and it started bruising my other fingers near it
