Cupping: Do You Find It To Be Quackery?

Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin with the application of cups heated and or not heated. The one in this video is not heated cups (heated cups sounds painful.) It is supposed to relieve muscle tension, improve blood flow and promote cell repair. He's doing it on her butt because of iliotibial band syndrome, which is when connective tissue rubs against the thighbone. I'm not saying what do you think about butt cupping, lol, because it can be done on various parts of the body, but here's an idea of the cupping therapy/method I'm referring to.

The research on cupping therapy at this time reveals scant evidence at best, with the most promising evidence (however small) pointing to wet cupping therapy. At this time, I can't say I'd endorse it based on the current evidence. Who knows what the future holds, though?

It definitely doesn't do all the things people claim it does, but it can definitely help with breaking up scar tissue and increase blood flow

Cupping is one form of meridian therapy (normally mis labled as acupuncture) w form of traditional Chinese medicine. Normally the cups use a vacuum to treat an identified meridian therapy points in accordance with their relevance to the patients presenting problem,. Cupping sets are sold with a vacuum pump and hot cupping uses a flame to exhaust the oxygen in the cupping vessel before it is applied. If the practitioner is knowledgeable about meridian therapy it has been demonstrated to be effective.

The downside is that cupping has been co opted by the kink community as a form D&M. Having no knowledge of meridian therapy trigger pointscan lead to misusing cupping in this way can lead to future physical problems..
