I live with pain daily. My hands are arthritic, the wrist that got crushed in the service is still one of the worst sources of pain. Lower lumbar region. The neck I had surgery on, constant headaches.
I suppose I could take Tramadol like my mom does when she's really in pain from her arthritis. But it's a controlled substance, therefore it's addicting and I don't need that shit on top of everything else.
So I take Gabapentin twice a day, Excedrin and Tylenol Extra Strength, one each, twice a day, and Tylenol PM at night before bed.01 Reply

+1 yI live with chronic pain since I was 8, now 47. I have a rare genetic connective tissue disease called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. My joints sublax and it causes a lot of pain. I try to push through as much as I can to keep moving. I have found that laying in the bed all day is counterintuitive. I have been on opiates since I was 16. When my pain gets higher than my baseline meds can manage then I mention it to my pain management doctor and we try to ascertain the pain's source. I listen to a lot of metal. I try to do anything I can to distract myself.

+1 yI've learned to live with it..
Until it gets too extreme..
And depends on what/where the pain is. I know sitting too long/laying on my back cause pain (ever since back surgery in 2005 or 6, forgot lol symptom of old age lol), so I avoid doing those things.. My shoulder on the other hand different story.. Because it's harder to avoid/limit doing the things that cause my shoulder pain.20 Reply- 787 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic.
+1 yI avoid western MD's and meds, but I have used them. They are good at some diagnosis but others they are a tragedy.
so I try to figure out the source of the pain and address it by making changes. If I can't, I seek more expert help. you are your best expert and advocate.
I have plenty of it right now working through.10 Reply 953 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Hi Stranger! For the type of pain I have on a daily basis, I have to take prescribed pain pills, which don't help much. Depending on what type of pain we are talking about, the over the counter pain patches called Salonpas work pretty good. I used a small one last night on my joint on my thumb and it took all the pain away so I could sleep. Without that patch, the pain would have kept me from sleeping.

+1 yIf it's simple pain: a headache, a pulled muscle, soreness after new exercise, aspirin or ibuprofen.
If you're talking about chronic achiness, you need to see a doctor to get to the bottom of the problem,.
And if you need pain meds, the narcotic kind, you need careful monitoring and to be weaned off in due time.00 Reply I cry , and complain till everyone is as miserable as me

10 ReplyI've never been a person that has to take aspirin or other pain reliever for every little pain. As a result, my endorphins kick in after about two minutes and I'm good to go. It's very seldom I use pain reliever.
