Been with my boyfriend for 10 years he’s always been into working out and all he works out everyday except weekends when he’s stuck on the tv … I workout but not as much as he does since I work cook and take care of our little one on a daily basis until he comes from working out. Today he said I got you a little something nothing crazy just a little something I said ok as I’m opening it they are ankle restraints for lifting I was like oooook…. I mean really I was expecting my favorite snack something I use or enjoy right. But no I was totally thrown off by this! I pretended I liked it and said cool … he’s like we can both use it especially since we have a little gym here in our building he said yes we will use this together when we work out this week … it got me thinking like really … I hated it is woman are so self conscious about our bodies period this threw me off … I told him straight up he got upset and said fine I’ll return it … it was a lame thoughtful gift and now I’m questioning everything because that’s what us woman do

I think your insecurities are getting to you a tad bit. The gym is his thing and you sometimes work out, maybe he is insinuating you bond with him more by going to the gym with him. I think it’s a thoughtful gift and it shows that he wants to spend more time together. If you are getting upset over this, it’s probably a sign that you think / know you aren’t looking your best and need to change that. Why wouldn’t you want to be the woman your man was originally attracted to?

You may have a point and again I went on here to get everyone’s insight … however I have never looked my best I look way better than I did when we first met.. it was this and then it was are you gonna eat I said no I’m not hungry I’m just on liquids then he said I told you I don’t want you skinny who’s too say I’m skinny I’m 5’5 and weight 165

@vivianvee working out isn’t always insinuating you to lose weight though. Maybe he wants you to stop trying to lose weight by unhealthy ways. Maybe you didn’t think it was your personal best, but it was how your husband liked you. Maybe you were carrying healthier eating habits back then. My advice? Go back to what you were doing before that made your husband impressed to be dating you in the first place. Even if you are interested in losing weight.

And I am just saying this out of the fact that my man is a personal trainer and me and him eat clean all the time and we match each other. I know for a fact if I stopped eating the way that made him attracted to me and started pigging out on wings and pizza everyday OR went did diets like keto and such, he would probably find me unattractive

I never pictured it that way I always thought gym working out is too loose weight I’ve been feel self conscious for years now that I’m at my goal weight it’s been difficult for me to get here maybe he’s insinuating Gains now … thank u

He’s insinuating good gains and healthy ways of keeping up with your health. If he’s into fitness and such he probably knows what is unhealthy and what is healthy and probably doesn’t know how to break the news without offending you

My personal opinion : people that extreme diet to lose weight such as keto, liquid diets etc are annoying to be around and that’s probably the hint he is dropping in all honesty lol

He miss the mark but he was trying to be nice. He probably super into you the way u are but he lives to work out. So he saw a piece of equipment that seemed cool and thought u would get excited cause it would get him excited. He just forgot to think from your perspective

It’s the thought that counts? I mean it isn’t the kind of gift I would give someone but maybe it was something that he thought could get the two of you to workout together. Regardless you probably really hurt his feelings.
