How to deal with constant stomach cramps?

I’ve been cramping up a lot the last few days and been a little miserable, any ideas to help relieve the pain a little?

@connie9888 I'm so sorry to hear that you've been feeling miserable, but don't worry. It will pass. It's very common among us to feel this way before and during the period. Have some chocolates or ice cream, I'm sure it will make you feel a little better!

About the cramps.. Doing these things that I've mentioned below really help me reduce the pain.

*Exercising/yoga as it improves blood circulation and releases tensed muscles.
*Cutting down on salty food, fried food and start drinking more water as water retention can cause bloating and cramps.
*Applying heating pad on my stomach, back and thighs.
*Having some chamomile tea or ginger tea.

I was similar to this young lady. So bad I went on the pill to regulate mine. My sis was the same as me.

But you’re right that best thing is to mitigate it as best as possible. Heat helped me the most above anything else.

I've had menorrhagia since the age of 13. My period would last for 10-12 days and the next cycle started after just 2 weeks. Which means I experienced severe bleeding for half a month every month and experienced horrible cramps before period until the end of period. I didn't get it treated for a long time until I had an accident, by then I lost too much blood and realized I had iron deficiency. I regret being too scared to visit a doctor. Now I'm on combination pills, I don't feel as much pain anymore, the bleeding has reduced and my period barely last for 5 days every month. So, I feel much better.

Take a rest, sip chamomile tea, and drink a lot of water. You could try placing something hot over your stomach (such as a hot water bottle) or simply take a warm shower or soak in a warm bath.

Thanks for the advice ❤️ Maybe if I take a hot shower it would help a little bit, I’ve been trying to drink a lot of water too. Usually my periods don’t hurt this much so I’m a little surprised, it’s been hard to do anything. I cried a little yesterday and felt like a mess 😭

I'm sorry you are feeling this way. Periods can be awful, and I think we all feel pretty miserable when it comes to them 😕 Maybe try having some ice cream (it makes everything better) and watch some comedy to cheer you up? Or a comfort movie/tv show if you have one.

Our hormones really get crazy during the period. One moment you are laughing, in the other one you are crying and you don't even know why 😅 It really can drive you crazy, but it will pass 💛

I noticed the same thing too about hormones it’s crazy! It’s like my emotions are ultra sensitive sometimes and I’ll cry for absolutely no reason at all 😩

Haha aw! 🥺😂 That happened to me yesterday too 😩 One of those “just a dollar a day can save a dog’s life” commercials came on and they showed the saddest dogs ever 😩🥺 I had to leave the room because I would’ve been in absolute tears 😭

Sounds like menstrual cramps. But just to cover everything try a heating pad on your lower abdomen. take anti acid and do not eat spicy foods for a few days. Do only light activities and rest. If you take any aspirin or Ib take only with food. Tell your parents!

@connie9888 okay, so yeah when you are young (like you) it can vary in severity. It did for me. It gets better as you get older.

Also, I also had to take birth control at a young age because mine were soooo bad.

My best advice other than the standard meds is heat and lots of it. Heating pad was my best friend. You can also heat water for a bottle.

Another good trick is heat water and soak wash clothe and lay it on stomach. You have to keep reheating it but it really does help for the worst parts.

Rub your belly. If it is an intestinal problem rubbing your belly will help. If that doesn't work talk to your OBGYN about it.
