Do you think it would be worth spending $350 on an advanced Japanese toilet seat/Bidet? Would you consider that unnecessary?

A Bidet is a whole toilet or toilet topper that improves the bathroom experience.

The unit I’m looking at has a heated seat with a side control panel.

It Cleans you up by spraying water in area that would normally be cleaned with toilet paper, the spray process is more clean and less wasteful.

After spraying that area heated air is used to dry the area.

After getting up the seat falls down automatically.

No, I would not buy it. And, none of my Muslim or India PhD students either. Plus, it’s just another thing to break…and an additional plumber call.

Make sure it will fit your toilet. I have a Kohler San Raphael elongated toilet that has a French curved tank made to the bowl, so a regular or Toto washlet seat won’t fit on my toilet 😞

The modern stuff is so childish and silly, and the traditional stuff is so strict and has too many complicated details. Like everything has to be done a certain way, and they have so many superstitions.
I honestly don't understand why White people love Japanese/East Asian culture so much

I appreciate Japanese culture because I think they have a very nice balance of traditional culture and modernized culture.
They have cutting edge technology such as the one I mentioned.

They also preserve their demographics without being isolationist, they are a major participant in the world economy without having open boarders or immigration which is my ideal for The West.

Yes Japan has started the next level bidets but they have had serious issues with toilet paper…. Very little trees etc. it’s outa necessity

Are you kidding? Japan is 68% forest, the highest of any developed nation. Ironically, THAT'S probably the reason they don't have toilet paper.

Anyways, I don't know. They made such a simple task like taking a shit, far more complicated than it needs to be. And water alone will never clean it as good as paper. I personally think wet wipes work best.
