Should I check if I was misdiagnosed with Autism/Asperger’s as an adolescent? I just don’t identify with that label?

Long story short I was kicked out of my original high school and sent to another high school with special classes at the age of 15.
They used the diagnosis of Autism/Asperger’s to justify this but I have always felt this was wrong and the people who ran the school didn’t care about me and didn’t want to deal with me; I had bad grades at the time but I just felt unmotivated.

This whole situation did damage to my life.
I was in a classroom with people who mostly couldn’t function normally at all.
It made me feel bad because I felt like I was being put in a box with people who were totally mentally disabled; I felt as if I was being treated like I was more like a severely mentally disabled person then I was like any other student in that school.
I felt like no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t prove I wasn’t like that to some people.

I eventually got into regular classes and had good grades and got on the honor roll, since In college I was on the Deans list.
I have never needed any sort of help.

I am 31 now and looking back I feel like this was a mistake.
I don’t identify with Asperger’s and feel like I should see a physiologist and take some sort of test to prove I am totally non autistic.
I would feel so vindictive if I could be told that.
Should I check if I was misdiagnosed with Autism/Asperger’s as an adolescent? I just don’t identify with that label?
