In my experience it feels like I’m about to diarrhea nonstop type pain. And it’s level 6 or 8. Specially the first 2 days.

I am on birth control, so it definitely is inconsistent with cramps and prior pain. When I wasn’t on birth control, my period pains definitely averaged at 8.5 or 9 for the first 4 days of my period. It was to the point where doing anything made me feel nauseous, dizzy, and just physically aching. Plus, my flow was heavy until the last two days.
So, I got on birth control to help my cramps and make my periods lighter, hopefully. When I got the implant the first time, my period pains were at an average of 5.5 on the scale. I didn’t get many cramps, but I got headaches and backaches, which were manageable with some OTC pain meds. My periods still remained heavy though.
I got the second implant (reimplanted) 2 years ago. For the first two years, I had little to no cramps or pains at all… It was averaging maybe 2 or 3 on the scale and only had slight backaches and headaches. My flow was extremely irregular and I was basically spotting for 7 days for most of my periods. (This is a common side effect of the implant birth control, by the way.)
As of recently, like the past few months, my period has been getting back to “normal,” which means my pains are starting to hurt way more than usual, so it's about a 7 on the scale right now. Flow is heavier than usual too…
Omfg!
It's like you knew mine just started ahahaha.
Literally started my cycle today and yesterday I had the worst break down ever. The worst part is the week before. I can't function and I am very emotional. I cried all day yesterday and then boom today it is on.
On a scale 1-10. The day before is always a 10 for being the worst pain ever. After it starts, it drastically drops to a 4 which is mildly painful.
Great question
IKR mine stared today!
That is so funny. We are in sync lol. This happens a lot when I'm around a group of girls.
We end up all starting our cycle around the same time.
Yay! Thank you for most helpful girl!
I am SO lucky! I get cramps on usually only day 1, sometimes extending into day 2 but rarely. That pain is pretty intense (I’d say 6 or 7 out of 10) and I have a muscle relaxer I take every 8 hours on the days in question, but the rest of the week is fine, I get occasional twinges, but I’m so used to it, it doesn't bother me! But also w/ PMS, I can get a little moody, a few days before my period, but mostly I just get weepy, and crave chocolate, and romantic comedies. Stereotypical I know, but oh well thats my reality 🤷🏼♀️
I had very bad menstral pain when I was younger, mainly due to medical reasons, I'd say it was easily a 9, sometimes to the point of passing out. So I decided to take oral contraceptives which have helped tremendously and I take them even when I am not sexuall active. I think the highest my pain gets now is a 3 out of 10 and no more fainting spells.
Im honestly so lucky when it comes to this. I usually have the slightest discomfort the day of or before. & other than that, i have no pain whatsoever. Just the pain in the ass from having to have a period.
I do however feel like its dodge cause my period doesn't really have a set timeframe? its extremely inconsistent & some months I can just skip all together? So this probably has something to do with me not having any pain ig.
I feel pain rarely.
But when I do, it’s max 3-4.
Lol whoever downvoted this is unhappy there are some people with healthy reproductive system and they don’t feel pain? What a sadist haha
Lol. It is weird that you rarely feel pain. Certain women in this comment section also said they don’t feel pain at all or rarely. But it’s not the majority.
It really depends on the person. My mother, when she was younger, didn't have any pain, but for me it feels absolutely terrible. I would have to rate it an 8 out of 10. Sometimes I have to just lay around instead of going to work because of how bad it gets.
10 for sure! I was rushed to ER two or three times to take morphy because pills didn't help. If I take only painkillers i need 2/3 at a time and the pain would still be like 4. Sometimes I even throw up because of so much pain
Periods shouldn't be painful, you should talk to a Dr about the pain you're experiencing so you can figure out what is causing it and how to fix it ☺️
Based on this pain scale, I would say my worst has been a 4 out of 10
I think I lucked out for my period. I don't really get overbearing cramps. The only thing that really bugs me is over excessive bleeding and I'll just sit there its literally so uncomfortable to me.
Have you had coffee or alcohol? I've only gotten the worst pain (almost passing out) when I had coffee or even alcohol on my period. Now I just avoid those and it's not as bad.
7 or 8. I have terrible cramps, but I also feel lightheaded often during periods 😬 Pms and the first few days of period are awful, but it gets easier later lol.
I get crazy bad cramps! I'd say 9/10. My periods use to not be bad before having kids but now after 3 babies things have changed.
It doesn't feels. Only blood flows and barely any change is there mentally. I may get moody but I never ever get any sort of pain physically.
Typically a 3 for 1-2 days. It used to be really bad though like to an 8, with these horrible hot flashes.
When I was ur age, it was like a 6 bc I was on that birth control. I got my tubes tied in '19, now my period is short and hurts like hell!
In a few days I’ll let u know… but I’m if birth control so I remember that the cramps were horrible…. Headaches too. It’s horrible.
Very bad occasionally. Has nothing on migraine pain though…
Probably 6 at the most for the first two days and decreasing after that
Terrible pain on the first day to the point where I've fainted a couple times (period pain plus heat) but once that passes I'm all good.
I've got an IUD so I am lucky because I have no pain and just a little bit of spotting.
maybe 102 without birth control…
around 8 with pills, and 2 with painkillers
These days its not really bad , a bit uncomfortable for a day.
I don't think it's been that bad, it's like a 4 usually. It's more annoying than painful honestly lol
It depends on the month. It can go from no pain to a 10
usually it's a 4. but on worst days it can escalate around 6-8
For me it's usually between a 4 and 6 because I have cramps and sometimes lower back pain
It varies. Sometimes it's mild tolerable.
Other days i feel so sick with nausea and body aches.
10 , having stomach issues and throwing up and my head hurts a lot and cramps so painful
Some days are worse then others... ugh... hate it!!!
Sometimes its mild and other times its extreme
Mild is 4-10
Extreme is 7-10
