Is it truly the case that if you refrain from eating after a certain time during the evening, you're far more likely to lose weight?

losing weight involves too many factors and variables, so no... you cannot reduce to one simple premise like, especially a premise that promises nothing from the start "most likely" can also mean that it will not happen at all and "certain time" is also quite vague
then it is about common sense... if you eat sandwiches with tons of bacon and a two liter coke before or after during that "certain time at night" you are still eating something not healthy... lol
I'm no doc, but I don't think it is. Apparently the metabolism burns just as many calories when you sleep as when you're awake & doing nothing.
And I've personally found that when I eat a bunch of food at night to speed up my metabolism, after I fast for long periods of time, I tend to lose more weight than I would have if I didn't. But don't quote me on this. I haven't tested it too much. Just seen the effects after doing it so often.
The nutrition lady I went to to lose some weight told me to try not to eat after 8 pm because metabolism slows down during the night.
But the quick Google I just did told me that there is no conclusive evidence for it. Google says we usually gain weight because or food choices at night are just poorer. At night you usually get some chips/crisps or m&ms on the couch.
There is some traction to not eating late in the evening. The reason is if you eat late in the evening and go to bed, you don't burn many calories. If you do three squares, starting early in the morning to early in the evening, you're active and burn more calories off.
It sounds logical.

No, the only way to lose weight is with a calorie deficit, so it doesn't matter too much about the time you it.
If one personally craves a lot at night and gives in, consuming a shit ton of calories, due to them not eating in the day, then I guess it can be a psychological thing for some.
It also depends on how much you eat throughout the day. Also, I feel like you’re more likely to lose weight if you don’t eat super late at night bc if you have you dinner earlier then you’ll still be active for the remainder of the day and thus still burning some calories. But if you eat your dinner at 10 PM, then you’re more likely to just chill around in bed right after and not being active.
British comedian Jimmy Carr, claims to have lost weight because he stopped eating after 6 PM
Not this time. It was on a podcast and the host genuinely wanted to know
More or less there’s a window before you go to sleep that you should refrain from food to optimize your metabolism.
Jury’s still out on if it’s true or not. Also studies show that eating protein and healthy fats before bed will aid in muscle growth and recovery and reduce body fat
Yea don’t starve yourself is my opinion
I think you're far more likely to not eat crap if you don't eat after a certain time. But losing weight has more to do with calorie intake than eating schedule.
Yes, that's true, but I think that also assumes that you are eating throughout the day. I only eat in the evening, so I'm not sure that the same rule would apply? I'm not well enough informed about this stuff lol
Could explain why some experts say it’s best to eat a big breakfast, a medium lunch, and a small dinner. Because your like to burn off most of the calories if you stay active throughout the day.
Smh same lady am telling u the arch angel is behind u badly
The best time to eat carbs and foods that may cause weight gain would be at lunch time where you still have the rest of the day to work it off and at dinner time a banana and 2 hard boiled eggs will satisfy
I think it's true. I never eat at night I usually have lunch and I'm good for the day. If I feel hungry I have a snack between 4pm-6pm.
No it’s not a myth it’s called intermittent fasting
That’s our calling but bad food has ruined our food intuition
Search more about it
You don’t need to eat 7 x a day
Hunger intuition *
No, I think eating smaller portions and going on a walking program is what helps one to lose weight
I have heard about. Do not know if it is true.
Anyway, don’t have a problem with my weight.

Supposedly, eating a lot of calories before bedtime can put the pounds on.
