Is covid bad or not?

my husband just tested positive with covid 19 (the sickness 😷) and came home from work. He has to work from home a while. Does anyone know if this sickness is as terrible as they wanted us to think? It's a flu of sorts, do I'm thinking not and we both feel fine. He's not been tasting anything and I have been coughing and stuff but otherwise...

At your age it will probably be mild and maybe no symptoms at all. But 'probably' doesn't mean 'will'. It varies from person to person. I've known a number of people in my age group and older who had it with mild symptoms. The person I know with the worst symptoms was much younger than me. That person tended to be a sickly type of person who got a lot of colds and other illnesses.

Overall, the risk of serious problems are very low unless you have other health issues. The people who die from it have an average of three other serious health problems. That's an average of course, but it puts the risk in perspective.

Age is closely tied to it for two main reasons. First, older people are more likely to have other health problems. Second, your lung capacity decreases a LOT as you get older. An older person's lung capacity might be a third of what it was when they were young. That means they don't have much to spare. If they lose some of it, it causes a lot more problems than it would with someone young who has plenty to spare.

Your experience may vary, not the same for all people. For me I had broken ribs when I caught it, so my oxygen tough to begin with, for my I just had a dry and persistent cough for over a month, loss of smell, muscle fatigue and exhaustion, had a light fever and chills, but antibodies show I had it.

I keep hoping I can somehow demonstrate I got it because my state pays for a full week off no questions asked. They are desperate to inflate numbers despite the narrative long since having changed, so when we want to go on vacation I’ll start taking the cheap hone tests that got sent to every house in America until I get a positive. What’s not to like, a free vacation that doesn’t come out of my paid time off bank?

It depends on the individual but if they had any of the COVID shots, then not only is the virus more dangerous, it will happen more often. If not, then only underlying problems that effect the lungs, immune system or blood oxygen are a concern. There may be other underlying problems that can make the virus more dangerous. But nebulizing with 3% food grade hydrogen peroxide with sterile saline as soon as possible will negate all of that anyway.

It's super dangerous if you're old or sick.

If you're not, then for most people it's just like a mild cold, but once in a while it fucks your shit up.

My wife and I both had Covid some months after getting the vaccine. Neither of us had any fever. I did not loose my taste. Outside of a lingering cough. I have had worse common colds!

I worked in a large urban hospital while Covid was still the narrative, and never saw a single ventilator. Not one, ever. That of course because my governor spent the ventilator money on welfare programs and other vote purchasing schemes, but I digress.

My state governor was having an age inappropriate feud with Trump at the time, and even if the state got them my hospital didn't but I only have my frame of reference for empirical observations to go on. I wasn’t there all three shifts, but usually close to two…

I have had it before and it sucks for me.

I had fever, the cold shivers and sore throat for two days. In addition, I threw up whatever I ate during those two days, so I was feeling pretty miserable and bad as well.

If a person is sick already , then sure it could finish them off, but if you are healthy mostly , then it is like an allergy.
