It’s never too late, my uncle started to wear his when he was in his 50s. I started to wear mine when I was 12 and took it off when I was 17 then again for a few months at 21, now I only wear mobile braces at night. Getting the braces in doesn’t hurt, what hurts is the arch wire and it hurts for 2/3 days (a week the first time ever) every time you have to change it and it’s mostly when you eat, so if you get like soup you should be fine. If you use mobile braces all the time (like my sister did) it’s basically the same in terms of duration of pain, what’s different is that it’s more annoying when you like have to eat in public since you’d have to either take it out in front of everyone or go to the bathroom just for that.
