I'm getting braces for my lower teeth so I'm concerned.
Also if you know then which brace is better? Metal one or Ceramic one? Which one is more effective and comfortable?
I think it's normally sore for a day or two after each wire change because the teeth are moving a little. But I don't think getting them put in is usually painful.
I've never had them though and people's experiences are wildly different. If you're really worried, try taking ibuprofen before your first appointment. My wife had braces and chains and she had to take ibuprofen before appointments for the chains, but she said the braces only bothered her after the appointment during the next few meals.
I see. I will try looking into that. Thanks!
No problem :)
It doesn't hurt to get them put on, but after the first installment, and whenever they get tighteted, your jaw get sensitive, and it hurts to bite or chew stuff for a day or two. I just got by on pudding ane applesauce on those days.
This was also manp years ago; it stands to reason it's gotten better since then.
Do you actually feel them moving?
No, but then, they shouldn't move, unless you mean during a tightening, and that's more a feeling of pressure thon anything else.
Ah I see, thanks
I currently have braces (I've had them for a while)
Getting them put on did not hurt but when the braces are moving the teeth it does hurt a bit. I think it hurts more if the teeth are more out of place.
The pain wasn't really really bad but it leaves your mouth sore and its hard to eat hard foods.
My teeth are out of order in lower part that means it will hurt. Shit.

I know braces. Never heard of teeth clips.
Yes I got my braces done for my teeth. Twice.
Yes it is an excellent way to get your teeth in a good position for the best smile and plus braces treatment does correct lot of complications that might otherwise arise if left uncorrected.
For the pain part, yes of course braces will hurt a lot but that will only be a few days till your mouth, your jaws gets used to the force and pressure of the braces. After that you will not feel any pain. However, you will need to visit your dentist at least once in a month, then they will make some correction, you will then feel some pain for few days before it goes away. This will continue till you finish your treatment.
For the type of braces. I would suggest metal one is the best, it is more durable and cost effective also. Ceramic ones might break often which doesn't do any good and plus it is costly also.
Comfortable, as I said initially it will not be comfortable irrespective of the type of braces but later on it will become easy.
I hope that answers your questions
Oh thanks for the suggestion. I will go for metal one.
Thank you
Doesn't hurt, its uncomfortable you have to keep your mouth open for an hour or so, but the bracketa are glued on to your teeth and than its uncomfortable when the wire puts tension on your teeth.
So you can basically feel the movement of the wires? I thought the process was so slow that you won't feel it.
No you won't feel the wires moving, it puts pressure on the teeth and you feel this during the first day
I see thanks
First 2 days it will be painful and then whenever you visit doctor it will be painful because the doctor will tighten the teeth closer.
I see, thank you
I had removed ones. After some time they hurt.
You mean teeth hurt after taking off brace?
That's messed up then. The dentist said I need to wear them for approx 2 years! I don't know if she was kidding.
I see. For how long did you wore them before taking them off completely? Which brace did you put?
