What could be the reasons for OCD?

My sister has OCD with washing things and that everything has to be cleaned. She is 20 years old and she developed it a year ago. What could be the reason?

I might be wrong, she developed her own liking like every individual does. So she cleans well, dresses well, talks neatly, it is one form of becoming an adult, doesn’t mean others or not, it happens automatically as one grow. she is wanting to be well organised on how she want things to be in her world. Because she started liking cleaned, hygienic things. She is the master of her likes and shaping it to the lifestyle she is into.
