Isn’t it crazy what doctors offices can charge for almost nothing?

I don’t have insurance right now and I really need to go to a dermatologist and so it was like $150 for a couple of minutes with the dermatologist. He was very fast. Easiest money they ever made.

I went in to visit a psychiatrist for my physical anxiety. I spent about 14 minutes with the guy, he didn’t really listen to me, just asked what chemicals I was around at work, poked my stomach in a few places, told me I had a cancer mole, and prescribed me 2 medications. Also, I got my urine tested. $1200 for the total visit, and that fucking 14 minutes of basically not being listened to was about $900 of the total bill. Without insurance it was reduced to $600 something, which like, I’m glad it got reduced I guess, but it felt so shitty, especially at the time when I was super vulnerable and needing help. It really makes me just not want to go into the doctor. “Oh I have a weird pain in my side” is it going to be a $160 visit to find it was a fart bubble? Is it going to be $1600 because I talked to a Side Pain Specialist for 15 minutes? I’ve been struggling with sciatica (found with my own research) for about eight months now. I’ve just not had the courage to go to a doctor. I’m trying out a Chiropractor, but even then I go in for about 7 minutes to have a guy crack my body and it’s $40 a visit. But at least it’s not crazy expensive

It's crazy what they HAVE to charge. Do you have ANY idea how much money can be spent on a malpractice lawsuit, even if you WIN?

It's because of their knowledge, but yes it is very expensive
