How many pounds do you consider to be overweight for a 5'9 tall adult male?

I don't ask my male friends their weight and I have no idea how much a normal male is supposed to weight or usually weighs. I would say 200 pounds is probably good for a 5"9 male, cause I know guys who claim to be 150 pounds that look like they are at 5% body fat.

Anything over 170 according to the bmi calculator is considered overweight, however a muscular male is typically going to weigh more than the BMI calculator recommendation and sometimes being a little overweight is preferred.

This is pretty much the perfect answer. Men are going to get more compliments on "looking good' if they carry a little extra weight in muscle, even if that's not the healthiest for their metabolism and physiology. As a 6' male, I think I'm probably healthiest when a bit lean around 160-170lb, but I get a lot of compliments on how healthy and strong I look when I pack on more muscle around 180-190lb.
