Continuing with the bed theme, how often do you wash/launder your bed sheets and blankets?

And, do you always wash blankets and sheets at the same time? (Like, not in the same load, but same week/day?)

I try to do ours weekly but, yeah, I admit, sometimes it's every other week. Sheets get done the same day as blankets.

What do you do? Schedule? Random? Situation based? Never?

I wash all the bedding in the house weekly. I switch the sheets and comforters to fresh ones each time so I can slack and allow myself a few days to finish all that wash. Some of my massive comforters take hours to dry on low.


But, sometimes there’s a reason to change them more frequently. For example, when my kids were small and had accidents, my son spills his cup or my coffee all over my bed, sick germs contaminating everything or for adult reasons 😉.

Ah yes... coffee, wine, kid feet, and, as you say, adult reasons. (We have a special blanket for that, so...). Well said on this.

And, yeah, what's with the comforters taking so long to dry. Sheesh.

I don’t understand how mankind can build telescopes nearly advanced enough to look so far into the past we could see the Big Bang occurring. But we can’t come up with a warm material that dries fast. What the flip? Haha

Bedding weekly. Duvet and cover monthly. And I clean the mattress monthly.

Not overly, I just have to pull it out and untie it from the corners. It’s harder putting it back together lol but I roll it like a burrito and that seems to workS

Our sheets get washed weekly, sometimes twice a week in hot months. The blankets and comforter get washed every other week because our cats and dog sleeps on our bed also. We turn our mattress once a month. We spray lysol on the mattress every time we strip our bed

Turning the mattress makes it last longer. You don't get permanent divots where you sleep. Lysol just kills bacteria.

I wash my sheets every other week. Blankets more rarely because they don’t touch my skin as often or for as long. If there isn’t some otherwise obvious schmutz on a blanket, maybe every four to six weeks.

Yeah, the blankets are often an as needed. Or when teenage boy feet have come in contact with them. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yep! We "upgraded" to a faux fur blanket just for sex. Covers the entire bed, throw it on, do what needs doing, and then toss it in the wash. So much easier than the whole bed worth of sheets, etc.
